While this hotel is slightly dated, the rooms are clean and the view if facing water and high enough up is realy good. No problems at all, and fairly close to the mall-just watch out crossing the Cinta Costera road, many lanes of fast traffic!

Room Tip: Room views vary, but City view is ok aas Panama City is a pretty city to look at.

We stayed for two nights in June before heading to Bocas. We were very happy with the service and the food. It was nice having free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and by the pool.
Our room was high but only had a city view. We were Ok with this since we weren't in there much.
The hotel staff was very helpful as we arrived about 9:00 am after a red-eye flight. Our friend's room was ready and ours was ready an hour later. This allowed us to talk with the drivers down stairs and make a plan for the day. I had read that we should go down the street for cabs, but we were happy with the pricing we got at our hotel. We haired a van with driver for $30 each for about 5-6 hours. He took us to Casque Antigua to walk around, shop and check out restaurants for the evening. Then we went to Mira Flores Locke, checked out the museum, saw the movie and saw a couple of cargo ships go through. It was a great day and well worth the money.
That evening he came back for us and recommended a great restaurant for dinner.
Over all I wouldn't mind staying at that hotel again, for a night or two.

I stayed at this hotel last year (march 2012) and I was surprised. It is a very good one, with great facilities, good staff, rooms big enough, great location e fare prices. The only problem is that outside the hotel we could notice a bad smell coming from the ocean, but it was not their fault.
The hotel is close to the shopping mall, Hard Rock Café and bus line to the city centre. Don´t grab a cab on the reception, walk by to the main avenue instead and deal a fare with a cab driver along the street. Cabs from the hotel are more expensive, they think we are rich just because we are a guest.
Breakfast is also excellent. Enjoy it.

We stayed at the Plaza Paitilla Inn for 10 nights and had a great experience there. I chose this hotel for the location, views, pool, free buffet breakfast and competitive price. We found the service to be warm and friendly and we enjoyed our stay here, the hotel met all of our expectations and I would stay there again. The location is really the best there is and we took advantage of all the area had to offer. We walked the Cinta Costera walk/jog/bike way along the bay at least once a day, never failed to enjoy our view of the bay and city skyline with floor to ceiling windows, and took full advantage of the nice pool which is big enough for a good lap work-out. The gym is nicely equipped and overlooks the pool area and bay view. The buffet breakfast was most appreciated with fresh fruit and a full array of hot and cold offerings including made to order omelets most days. This complete meal filled us up and we only had to pay for one other meal each day. The Multi-Centro mall is across the street (very busy - so be careful in your crossings) and we spent time there going to movies, shopping, and eating. Punta Paitilla is a classic address in Panama City and it was fun to "live" at the Paitilla Inn and see how it was to live in this special area of the city. The hotel has a classic look and our junior suite room was very spacious and adequate for our extended stay. The elevators in this hotel are amazingly fast and quiet - we called them stealth - so much so that you sometimes had to ask if they were moving. Our room was right across the hall from the elevators and we never heard them either. As well, while some newer hotels have thin walls, we never heard anything from our neighbors during our stay here. There is some updating that would really bring this hotel up a notch - but all in all I had no complaints. There are some art deco architectural details in this hotel and if I were asked to advise on the interior design I would play off this theme instead of making potentially tacky remodel decisions. There are 2 small windows on that will open to let in the breeze, but when closed the noise from the street dies down, although this is Panama City and with its vibrant energy and proximity to the main roads, definitely brings with it some traffic noise. I recommend this hotel for those interested in a real Panama City experience where one can begin to blend in with the locals.

Room Tip: The junior suites on the 19th floor have floor to ceiling windows, are very spacious, and have nice...

I consider myself, frequent shopper in this hostel, really like the location, the view if your room are facing the bay is amazing...i went at this hotel couple days ago and I got my room with the view I was asking, the bay...but I must tell you guys, you should improve the rooms a little bit, clean the windows outside of the building, and also some renovation to the bathrooms, the rest of the bedroom for me is ok...all the bedroom are quiet big...also the swimming pool area think if you invest a bit of money in the area will look great, front desk service wasnt the best i dont see much interest in the girls to help us much...in my next trip to the city for sure I will stay in the hotel again, coz Im still like the place...thanks.

Room Tip: Ask for a bedroom high floor, facing the Bay...the view is great...

The plaza Paitilla Inn is an old but comfortable hotel. I would go there anytime again for its extraordinary view of the Panama Bay and the city. There are many other newer hotels but waking up in the morning and seeing the view has no price!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms ending with 15. For good rooms with a view!

This is one of our favorite spots in Panama. The staff makes every effort to communicate in English if your Spanish is not very good, which is not always the case in Panama. At our recent stay we had complimentary rum drinks in the bar which overlooks the city and the bay. The mini bar has beer for under two dollars - a feature my husband really liked! The breakfast was very good and included the usual fare but also the more traditional Panama meats and cheeses and even fish.
