“Great Destination”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

The Causeway was built by connecting three small islands with the excavation from the canal. Since turnover by the US to Panama at the end of 1999, the Causeway has turned into a very pleasant destination with something for everyone: bike and walking paths, a small Smithsonian marine park, a small beach, a soon-to-be opened Frank Gehry designed museum, yacht harbors, and lots of bars and restaurants. Definitely worth a visit any time of day.

“A great place to stroll”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

The Calzada Amador is a long stretch of man made land. the causeway was made possible by the earth that came from the Cullebra cut where the Canal is in. It has restaurants and shops and hotels and is just a great place to go

“A Park Area”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

The Amador Causeway is a long narrow park area where you can walk, jog or ride a bicycle. It is the location of docks to take ferries to islands, has many great restaurants and a beautiful of Panama City's skyline, especially at night.

“Very nice!!!”

The place to be on a Sunday! Loads of people who skate, run, play basketball, flirt, etc etc. In the middle is the fish market which has a fish smell, but is great to see and taste some fish.

“Family outing”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Recently we visited this part of Panama City on a Sunday to enjoy what the Panamanians consider a lovely view of the capital. We arrived by taxi to Alberto restaurant where we rented some bicycles and cruise along the causeway. It was very crowded on Sunday and we wish we had come during the week instead. The bike rental was very reasonable, but the hit for us was just people watching the interactions of the families and the lovely breezes off the Gulf of Panama. There were many restaurants from which to choose your lunch from. Everything from seafood, to steaks, to Panamanian dishes, and many ice cream shops. There is a yacht basin at the end of the causeway with many beautiful ships to admire while eating your ice cream.
The only negatives we have to offer is not to go on Sunday. The positives are the views, the ocean air, the restaurants, the exercise, and very shortly the new biodiversity museum that will be opening.
