Owner description: This 265-hectare national treasure is located within Panama City’s Ancon district, and is the only protected area in Central America located within city boundaries. Standing along the Panama Canal’s eastern shore, it’s home to dozens of species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and trees. With lookout points, four well-marked trails, a scenic road and a Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute canopy crane structure, guests can explore on their own. The Park also offers guided tours to groups for a fee (five-person minimum) if booked well in advance.

No maps, no directions, no signs. Instead we just drove around seeing whatever we could see. Many city roadways are under construction.

Looks more like a wild forest, but with few friendly trails. There's one point with very nice views to Panama City. You can walk all the routes within couple of hours. Don't walk to the park entrance — take a taxi.

We really enjoyed our walk, easy enough, but lots to see. You get a great view from the top and we saw a few sloths, one was even moving!

We arrived at the park and only wanted to do the one hour trail. Traffic noise from the highway was the only thing we heard. No birds, butterflies, or monkeys. Would not recommend this as a place to visit.
