“Panamanian formality/elegance”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

The hotel is a bit hard to find if you are driving yourself - but very conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood. The staff is excellent and well-trained. IT's nice to experience a local chain - especially when in a bigger city. The restaurant is a gem - the chef is one of Panama's more famous chefs. Breakfast was delicious and very orderly. The rooms are nice - a bit dated but well kepts. Not much of a view from the room we were in.

Bristol really exceed all of our expectations and we stayed on many other 5 star luxury hotels in this trip! there is a reason it is on Leading Hotels of theWorld!
It was so memorable that we even gave as gift to our panamanian friends a stay at the hotel!

our room (grand master suite) was just fabulous! comfortable, spacious, (there are constructions around so there is no really nice view... yet higher floors are better and more exclusive.
plenty of elevators and staff so even though it is a grand hotel you feel like your in very exclusive, selective hotel. You see very few guest coming and going in a quiet and luxury hotel even though it was christmas and the hotel was fully booked.
concierge and reception really good. never having to wait in line, prompt responses. the first day we did not like much the guide assigned to us (they arranged the same day!) so second day we were assigned a fantastic very professional and knowledgeable guide for panama canal.
They did exceed and always made better next day!
staff always smiling, very friendly, polity and prepared to serve us the best way possible.
the restaurant IS JUST the best in town! amazing! you can not miss it! Breakfast is served there (gorgeous ambience) and very very tasty. only down side extremely cold so do take your jacket to breakfast!
The bar/ piano on the top floor also gorgeous, great selection of music, staff, decor and the food really really good and drinks were really good.
ask for the flower on the ice for bartender! something memorable!!!
the whole hotel is decorated w amazing orchids. fantastic art selection and very trendy stylish furniture but always confortable.
location could be better because it is not a beach front hotel but we visited trump hotel (similar category) and Bristol Panama is 100% better then trump if you want selective, trendy, stylish but also confortable and big chain hotel. don't even have doubts about it.
much much more cleaner, way better service, room amenities, overall service and restaurant quality also can 't even compare.

our stay was so memorable that we would come back again to panama and even more so to Bristol!

Room Tip: ask for highers floors if possible so you can skip some of the building around. if yits on your budg...

The Bristol is a true 5-star hotel in Panama City that provides everything that one would expect, and more, from a hotel of its stature. My girlfriend and I stayed there for four nights and at the end came away feeling that it is easily the nicest hotel in Panama City, and frankly is the kind of place we’d search out for when traveling anywhere around the world.

To begin with, our room was a Tower Executive King, located in the newly completed north tower. It was large, modern, beautifully appointed, and had every kind of accouterments one would expect from a top-tier hotel. Of course The Bristol doesn't just give you the basics of that category, they up-the-ante a bit by also including Molten Brown toiletries, slippers placed at your bedside during turndown, and butler service.

Speaking of service, this is what really separates The Bristol from other hotels in Panama City. Genuinely Panamanian, the staff goes out of its way to make sure all needs are taken care of while staying at the hotel. These needs include offering such services as: complimentary Panamanian coffee, tea, or orange juice with your wake-up call; having a fleet of cars which would take you anywhere, and you can charge the cost of their transportation to the room; a concierge willing to recommend and/or book any reservation or tour in town; and a general feeling of being a wanted guest within their building. Frankly, for the service alone provided by the Bristol, one should think twice about booking a hotel room anywhere else.

The Bristol also offers a few other notable features worth mentioning. First, their rooftop spa is both a beautiful and relaxing escape from the city. They also have an amazing hotel restaurant (easily one of our best meals of many great ones in Panama City) and two bars serving world-class drinks at Panama City prices. The gym and pool are both on the small side, but more than adequate given the needs/ scale of this small city hotel.

In conclusion, if I were to go back to Panama City, I’d be hard pressed right now to stay anywhere else but the Bristol. Given that their rates are reasonable compared with most other 5-star hotels around the world, the Bristol is a great value as well.
