I visited the Miraflores Locks and was astounded by the way they worked so well after 100 years. The public area is great for viewing and was not crowded when I was there. You are above the level of the locks so you can see everything clearly. Amazing!

This is a not must do fro all visitors to Panama. The canal is a remarkable feat and it is amazing to see it in action the visitors center and museum are very informative and worth the time and cost.

The history of the Panama Canal is very interested! We went to the Miraflores locks, where you can see a ship pass through the panama Canal and there is also the Panama Canal Museum. Very interested!

So interesting to learn about how the canal was built and politics of the time and since. Must get there early and make sure you see a ship in the locks.

The visitors' center is terrific and nicely put together. Get there early to avoid the crowds. We had hired a private guide for the day to take us around the city and it was well worth it. We started at the Panama Canal and it was very enlightening for us and our 9yo.
