“Great Walk with a Great View”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2014

One hour walk to the top of the Ancon Hill. Not recommended to do this during the hottest hour of the day but the view is quite nice so I would recommend going there early morning or late afternoon. We saw monkeys and toekans along the way which was great of course. If you're lazy / injured; take a taxi :)

“a must on Panama City first timers "to-do" list”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2014

We came here before 10:00, right after visiting Miraflores Locks. This is a staple for first time visitors. The view is amazing, allowing you to realize the size of canal cargo center, and on the other side of the hill – to see the city vista. Get here early, preferably before 10:00am, since most of the tourists are still at the locks or the canal museum. As many here sated, it is a one way road that allows for traffic to either go up the hill or down. If you happen to arrive at a time when a vehicle is driving down the hill, you will need to wait until it exists before you can proceed. There are few vendors on top of the hill, selling souvenirs, one particular I really liked, were old Panamanian license plates. Visiting here for 15-20 min. is enough and will leave you with some of the coolest photos from your visit in Panama City.

Our guide was able to drive us to the top. Good view of the city and we saw a pair of toucans as well.

“Worth the hike!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

It is definitely worth the hike to the top to take in the gorgeous views of the city and the canal. The incline is steep so it is not for the faint of heart, but it is paved. There are a couple of picnic tables if you have members of your party that can't endure the climb.

“spectacular view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

this was very near the Tryp where we stayed. We took a taxi tour from the hotel and that was our first stop. the view of the city is awesome-you can see the downtown skyline, the casco antiguo, the cinta costera and the ocean. To get there you drive by old military homes. very nice area
