Very nice way to see the city and get some exercise. We walked up which I would recomend... as you can see Tucans and frogs and huge trees. The views from the top are very nice and the day we were there, there was a breeze which kept it cool. I suggest a morning walk as it will be cooler.

Ancon Hill is an interesting venue with views all over Panama City. There were lots of children there from area schools visiting the hill. They were young and full of life, but well controlled by their teachers. We felt like we were part of the class.

We walked up Ancon Hill a couple days ago during our trip to Panama City, and while the walk up can be very hot at times, we did bring water along so that helped a lot. Just stop here and there along the way, and enjoy the wildlife - the birds, the butterflies, the frogs, and if you're lucky, you might spot a sloth or other exciting wildlife. When we were walking, I noticed something falling from higher up in a tree; at first we weren't sure what it was, and thought it was a sloth! However, after we took a picture with a zoom lens, we realized it was an iguana, and quite a large one at that......it was a terrific experience. The view at the top is indeed quite spectacular, as you get a full view of the downtown area with all the skyscrapers, and at another lookout up top, you can see the canal, and even Miraflores Locks. I'd highly recommend this attraction - and it won't cost you a cent - just a few lost calories from the walk!

A nice road, and a great view point from the top, especially to see the Casco Viejo (old town). Interesting wild life on the way too.

We stayed at La Estancia B and B on Ancon Hill. This is a lovely, quiet area to stay away from all the noise of the city. The park at the top of the hill has wonderful views of the Panama Canal, modern-day Panama City and Casco Viejo and is a great area to view birds and beautiful flowers. Not a steep, steep hill but you need to be in good shape to walk to the top. You can drive up during daylight.
