So, I went to the "famous Albrook Mall". I guess it's a big deal for the people who live there. Being a Panamanian my self, t was great to see a nice mall in Panama. The prices were great. There was tons of stores to choose from and plenty places to eat. Love the huge animal statues all over the place. It's good of course can't compare to the stores in the USA but it will do. I cracked up when I saw a sign that read "ropa de Americana".

Big mall and good for shopping, better prices compared with other malls in the area. Lots of stores: colombian, panameñan and amercian.

A group of six spent 4 hours walking and eating in Albrook Mall. We were very surprise that there were at least 200 stores to choose from and prices ranged from cheap everyday items to clothing, to expensive jewelry. We really enjoyed eating in their food court and our suggestion is that you go to the main area where you have many, many choices instead of the side food courts. A treat for us was eating when the students from many high schools who were taking their lunch and we had an opportunity to engage them in conversation. We found out that all Panamanian high school students must take at least 3 years of English and that their desire to practice it with American tourist was refreshing. We ate at a place called Lenos Carnes (beef) where the menu was beef steaks, beef on a stick with rice, plantains and beans. We had lemonade that was made with fresh oranges....delicious. There are many other choices and many American eateries like Burger King, KFC, etc., we figured we can have those any day, so we went with what the Panamanians ate.
Shopping was easy since just about all of the stores were bilingual (English and Spanish) and the workers were very eager to assist.
A must for lunch so you can see real Panamanians in their normal routines.

Lots of shopping here at this mall including the usual American brands such as GAP and Victoria's Secret. There are huge models of different animals at the various entrances which is great to help you find your way around. This mall is also a stop on the hop on hop off bus tour.

Literally down a ramp from the Gran Terminal bus station is one of the food courts (there are at least two in the mall). Albrook Mall has both small boutique stores, and big American chain stores like The Gap. Has a lot of choices for running equipment, but none for camping, which is what I can gone looking for, other than a small Columbia store, which had plenty of clothing options, but no gear. The mall is huge - didn't have time to see everything in my 4 hours there. A lot of staff speak English, so was helpful with my iffy Spanish speaking skills. Most of the mall was air conditioned. Some areas a little warm, but nothing to complain about. One bathroom charged 0.25 to go in, but another one didn't.
