When my husband told me he had booked a room for our family here, I have to say I wasn't expecting much! But, on arrival I admit to having a change of heart!

Rooms are all new, Beds are so comfortable and bathrooms are clean and the amenities given in the bathroom are top notch! No stinky soaps here!!!

The staff were very friendly and eager to help us with out 2 small children.

Breakfast was OK, it was buffet style, but could do with a little more attention as to when the food stations need replenishing.
We did decide to stay for dinner one night, which I admit was awful. We were the only people in the restaurant, but it took and hour for the food to arrive.

The car park was safe, but it was a bit of a tight squeeze getting our family car out!! We have a Kia Carnival and it *just* about made it out of the ramp without getting dinged!

I would definitley recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Panama City, on the proviso that you dont eat dinner there and that you get up early to eat breakfast!!!

For the price ... its well worth it! We will definitley go back!

After reading good reviews for this hotel, we booked a room online through kayak.com. We arrived and were greeted by a cordial doorman and receptionist, both of whom spoke limited English. We didn't expect the staff to be fluent since this was a smaller hotel and not a major chain; in addition, we accepted the fact that we were in another country and would, at the very least, need a basic understanding of the language.
After informing the receptionist that we had a reservation, she attempted to look it up in the computer but was unable to find it. After showing her our a printout of a confirmation email for the reservation, she still looked confused, but gave us a key and let us check in. (Thankfully they were not very busy and still had rooms available, unlike the experience of another reviewer who had to go to another hotel).
Over the course of the next day, we were stopped TWICE and told that we that hadn't paid for the hotel, but had only "reserved" the room online; once while leaving the hotel for lunch, and the second time, more crucially, while we attempted to check out at 6:00am to catch our flight back home. Both times we showed our confirmation printout, which clearly stated that our credit card would be charged the amount of the room and included payment info on it (credit card type, last 4 digits of card used). On the morning of our departure, we went back and forth with the receptionist (who had doubled as our doorman from the previous day), arguing that we had paid while he argued otherwise. Nearly 15 minutes went by before he finally found something in the system and seemed satisfied to let us go. Needless to say, we were stressed about catching our flight.
As far as the actual hotel, it is a decent value. The room was clean, air conditioned, and included a TV. Nothing out of the ordinary, but suited our needs. No pool, but a nice communal balcony with a view of the city. We had a decent WiFi signal in our room, and there was a complimentary "internet room" downstairs with computers. We ate at the restaurant downstairs for dinner and it was by far the worst meal we had eaten during our trip, and this included meals from inexpensive/ hole in the wall type places. My wife and I both suffered stomach problems shortly after. To make matters worse, our meal took almost an hour to arrive, even though we were the first people in the restaurant and there was only one other couple there the whole time.
This could be a pretty nice place to stay if they improved on their computer system (it seems others have had similar problems with reservations here), perhaps trained their staff to be a little more tech savvy, and revamped their kitchen to serve decent food.

While in a hurry for planning the last leg of our trip to Bocas del Toro, I went to a reservation website, instead of looking for network hotels like Marriott, Best Western, etc..
It resulted in a poor choice from my side, with the same average price I would pay for a much better hotel and location.
The hotel is in a deteriorated area of Panama City, and they have problems with staff training, a breakfast that seems to be a war to get something to eat, and recurrent problems with hot water in the rooms.
I do not recommend.

Well, What can I say, I looked up in the tripadvisor for a good hotel in panama city, and we decided to go on the eco inn avila. I made a month before a reservation through booking.com about a month before because we wanted to make sure that we wont need to look for a room after 15 hours flight. Of course i gave all my credit card data, contact info of me on booking.com so the hotel would be able to contact me if there's a problem.
So we arrived to panama city and came with a taxi directly to the hotel. We started sensing from the looks on the face of the reception clerk that something is wrong. The general manager came and started explaining that some of the hotel visitors decided to extend their staying, so the hotel is fully booked. we were shocked. I told him that We made the reservation in booking.com just because of that - So they would book us a room - that's the definition of the term reservation. The manager appologized and the only good thing was that he took the responesibilty to move us to another hotel - La Cresta inn. "That hotel is a 4 star hotel so consider you got an upgrade" he told us. So after a 15 hours flight you dont really have the energies to continue arguing with the hotel people, so we decided to take the room in the hotel he suggested.
That hotel is by the way really a 4 star hotel, BUT it is somewhere in the 60-70 place in tripadvisor(out of 90 i think) so its not really a 4 star hotel. from where i come from, it might be considered like a 2 star hotel. Oh, and we arrived there we found out that there were 2 more couple (locals) that also booked a room at the eco inn avila and found out that the hotel is overbooked.
So you see, I really wanted to give a good review about this hotel, and maybe it is a good hotel, but because they didnt even reserve the room for me although i booked it online - I give only 1 rating to this place - terrible.

Clean, nice rooms, nice staff, very good in general for the price. The breakfast needs improving, it's very basic, not a lot of options.

Had a great experience since the staff and hotel are excellent. Great location too, close to the new running path that connects downtown with Casco Viejo. Clean, new, unlimited internet in the entire hotel, and a fair price for excellent value. Thumbs up for sure.

We picked this hotel partly because of the good ratings from others here, It might be that this is a nice place if you speak spanish, but as we didn't, we felt quite lost. Some of the staff really wanted to be helpfull, but that was sort of lost in translation...The location is to far away from everything (in the midle between the business area and the old part of town). Wifi internett was only awailable in the room, and didn't work half the time we were there. Breakfast was OK, but nothing more. The room was totally OK, and the bed was good, but all in all, it's just an avarage hotel...
