“Awesome activity”

These artisans take great joy in explaining the history of their country's artifacts and beautifully explain as they recreate the ceramics, jewelry and textiles. It was like an an amazing museum with a dreamy gift shop. You know you are going to want souvenirs from your trip. Here you feel you are leaving with memories as well. The tour guides were also happy to give us great tips on restaurants, politics, and fun ideas.

“Worth the time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

Reprosa wasn't originally on my list of things of things to do in Panama. But I am really glad that I changed my mind. The tour guide, Monica was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer my million and one questions. The tour started of with a video which highlighted some of the history of Panama, then the guide gave further details regarding the origins of Reprosa. It was interesting to see how the art is being made (because trust me every piece is a work of art). Everything was made in the factory with some exceptions. The items not made in the factory are made by artisans within the city. The details were amazing.

Things to note:

1. The products are really good and prices start at about $18 USD and can go as high as $300 (I think that's the highest that I saw). It is also very possible to get carried away and start picking up many things because the items as stated before are very beautiful and intricate.

2. For some reason the street taxis were not very open to going to Costa del Este (could not figure out why). It actually took awhile for me to get a taxi to go there. To avoid this hassle, you can make specific arrangements for a taxi from hotel to Reprosa.

3. The sign outside does not say "Reprosa." We kept looking for specifically that but did see it. Instead look for "Reproduccionnes y Originales, S.A." It is on your left after turning unto Calle Primera.

4. For those who may not want to take a taxi, there is a bus that passes on the main road. You stop at the exit for Costa Del Este and it's a five minute walk in. The bus is the Panama Viejo/M.Mariscos/Cinta Costera bus (there are no bus numbers). If you're staying in Casco Viejo its a short walk away from there. It also passes through the down town area so it is readily accessible.

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2013

We visited Reprosa last Friday, and it was a wonderful experience. Our guide, Monica, was very engaging, knowledgable, and helpful, with all the employees cheerfully in sync to help demonstrate the process.Their jewelry was beautiful and very reasonably priced. They also have other arts and crafts such as Embera baskets that are exquisite. The owner and all the employees are incredibly friendly, adding up to a very positive atmosphere and experience.Highly recommended! We will return.

“Very interesting attraction.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013

This is the second time I have taken this tour, this time as a tour leader. When I first saw this jewelers studio, I though, ah this I have to show to others, as it is so unique for at least two reasons, one that the history of Panama is preserved and the way the pre-colombian inhabitants made their jewelry is also preserved and explained by the Santomme family and their dedicated employees. This should be the number one attraction of Panama.
