“Panama City and Canal Tour”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

I would not hesitate to recommend Kevin and Barefoot Panama. He met me at my hotel on time and did not cancel the tour despite me being the only person who had registered, as it was low season.

We got to the Canal just before it opened, which was perfect timing as within a half hour the fourth floor deck was packed and I had a perfect view of the locks. The rain started just before the walking tour of Casco Viejo and he even had a rain poncho. A great tour to learn some of the history of the city, the canal and learn about Casco Viejo.

“Panama Canal Partial Transit”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

The partial transit of the canal was fabulous - and a must for anyone visiting Panama City.
Unless you are a true history buff, or determined to do the the full transit from one ocean to the other - the partial transit shows a good deal of the Canal's operations with transit through the Miraflores Locks. We were on a boat that was formerly owned by Al Capone.

Kevin at Barefoot Panama provided excellent customer service from booking to taking the tour.
Beware that pickup times can vary depending on the Canal's authorities. Our original pickup
time was 7:30 to 8:15, which was changed the day before to 6:30 AM. Kevin emailed us and offered a refund if the time was not suitable. While waiting in the lobby at 6:30 we received a call that the pickup bus was running late - and it arrived at 6:45. A light breakfast and a full lunch were served.

Dealing with Barefoot Panama was a breeze - Kevin appreciates having tours run on time.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!
This is the perfect review of a great tour that is facilitated by BarefootPanama but under the control of a greater power (The Panama Canal). Sometimes, its as smooth as can be and sometimes we have to make some adjustments.. I understand the value of good communication and appreciate the value of your time while on vacation, but sometimes.. things get switched around a bit (not by barefoot). . thanks for roll'n with the punches
see ya next time

“Best Guide in Panama! Can't wait to try his other tours..”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

I have lived in Panama for a year and a half, mostly in the Playa Blanca area, surrounded by hotels and stuffy "major tour operators" that can't even spell customer service, meanwhile, with my work schedule it had been impossible to take some free time to explore this amazing country. I met Kevin through mutual friends here in Panama City, and went with him on his city tour.

1. Kevin knows Panama and his planning & execution prove that.
2. Kevin Is hilarious.
3. Is extremely passionate about what he does.
4. Kevin loses points being from Boston originally, but makes up for it with his own personally travel stories. Go LAKERS!!
4. Barefoot Panama offers some tours which Kevin has personally created that no "major tour operator" even know are possible.
5. Barefoot Panama is the only company you should book a tour with when visiting Panama.

Kevin and I are already setting up tours for the next few months. I plan to hike in El Valle with him, visit an Embera Indian village & explore all over the Atlantic coast between Colon and San Blas.. I recommend you do the same, whether you are living in Panama full time or merely passing through!!

See you soon, Brian, I mean Kevin..

“Wonderful”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

The Canal and Panama City tour was by far the best tour we did during our week long trip to Panama. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot and really enjoyed ourselves. We booked this tour based on all of the positive reviews we read on this site... and are so glad we listened!

“Barefoot Panama tours”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

We visited Panama with our two kids, aged 8 and 6, and we were worried about how the children would handle a two-week tour packed with activities. Thanks to Kevin, we need not have worried. Every single day included activities we enjoyed, and Kevin made sure to work in some relaxation time as well. We toured around the whole country and never felt overwhelmed or unsure. Kevin took us around everywhere, and did whatever he could to accommodate us and to make us comfortable and happy. He also made sure to avoid any possible pitfalls or difficulties, and to anticipate what we might need.
He is an amazing tour guide! I strongly recommend going with Barefoot Panama!
