Everything is great, the way there, the entrance, the lobby, everything, until you get to your room, the restaurant, the hallways. I have to say that i didnt play golf so this review should not affect that aspect. It seems like management has completely forgotten how to take care of these facilities. Lets go one by one: 1) reception/lobby - it was carnival holiday and at checkout time on fat tuesday there was only one person behind the check out desk (unaccepatable),2) overall maitenance of hallways and carpets was a little bit runned down, 3) room window looking at the pool in room 402 was super dirty and metal outside of windows was super rusty, 4) pool area - first of all the pools had a lot of mold, second there was little service from personnel and third towels you got on the pool you could not take up to your room (non sensical), 5) kids lounge/area was a complete mess, all games were incomplete ot damaged,6) forest trail to the butterfly exhibition was super runned down and this was one of the biggest reason i wanted to go here with family.

This one's a little tricky, as it has many positives, but unfortunately we felt the negatives outweighed them.

Our room was really modern and nice, including an amazing bathroom and shower. The setting of the hotel is very nice with great scenery, and the hotel has a nice pool area with two pools and plenty of deck space. There were a couple of hiking trails which were quite nice, and if you're golfing, the course is right there.

One of the features that had appealed to us was the free shuttle. However, the shuttle only left the hotel once per day (10:30) and picked up once per day (4:00). We didn't find these times convenient at all. We had paid extra for use of the shuttle and ended up only using it twice, and taking cabs the rest of the time.

Which is when we encountered another problem. When we first asked the front desk to call us a cab, we were told it would be $25 to get to Miraflores. We ended up having to negotiate cab fare with the front desk until we could get them down to $15 (when really we should have been paying $5). It was sort of an empty feeling to see your front desk staff trying to cheat you for cab fare, and didn't really instill any confidence in their ability to help me with anything else.

This was a common theme for us with staff, as we felt most of them were not very friendly or helpful. Even though we had stayed here for five days, we never really felt as if we were "at home," it just didn't offer that kind of friendly, personable atmosphere.

While the rooms are really nice, the hallways were awful. It isn't really important to a stay, but the out dated carpet was filthy, and bubbled up all over the place; it was hard to get out of my mind when writing this.

As other reviewers have noted, the restaurant situation is a little misleading. They claim two restaurants, but it was difficult to know which was open when. It's difficult to explain, but there were times we couldn't tell what was open and what was closed. The service is quite slow, and as others have pointed out, you often have to scrounge for your own cutlery, etc. It is also fairly pricey for Panama. Having said that, the Pool View BBQ was fantastic, try the octopus (if it's open, it wasn't open the first two nights of our stay, though the ads in the elevator said it was).

All in all, the rooms are quite nice, and the hotel setting is quite nice, however the location is not very convenient. If you are looking for a place to get away from everything, this is a great hotel, but if you are using it as a jumping point to get to the Canal and other Panamanian sights, you should stay in Panama City where there are many more dining options, and cabs are actually quite a bit cheaper and faster.

Room Tip: High floors have better views...

While in Panama, we wanted to spend some time in Panama city. We found the Radisson Summit very easy to get to & with a lot to offer. They offer something for everyone: Good pools, good food, near the Panama Canal & other attractions, golf, nature trails, butterfly enclosure & very good bird-watching. We saw more birds from our balcony then we did on the bird-watching tour. We saw a TOUCAN!!! Also looked like a good place to take your children to or host a convention. The staff were most gracious. The rooms were lovely & provided all we needed & more.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room on the 7th or 8th floor that faces the jungle canopy!!

We stayed for 1 night at the end of our trip to Panama. The Radisson was the perfect stay at the end of a great trip to Panama. We hired a car from Albrook airport and the Radisson was easy to find driving from the airport. The room was amazing - large, 2 comfy beds and very modern bathroom. The hotel provided us with a free welcome drink - which was a nice touch. The hotel has a golf course and is situated next to rain forest. There is a lovely walking path around the property and a surprisingly beautiful butterfly house. There is also a very welcoming swimming pool. Breakfast was a wonderful spread and we were very pleased when the staff still allowed us to eat at 9.55am when breakfast ended at 10! This was due to us having a puncture on our way back to the hotel from an early morning walk. My only recommendation is that the sports bar reconsider their menu and add a few more veggie options to the menu.

When we landed late at night in Panama City, the hotel shuttle service was there to greet us. Victor our Concierge\Driver was very helpful. The room and the facilities were very nice and in good condition. The free breakfast was good. We would go back.

This place was great as was the staff. Great place for golf though a bit isolated. Near the zoo. Great breakfast and pool area. Fitness center could use some upgrades. Overall, I would stay again. Good staff, clean rooms and relaxing atmosphere.

This hotel is very good only because of a combination of features, including the fact that there is no "good" rating available in TripAdvisor. However, unless management starts taking care of its shortfalls, it will quickly go down to "Average" and even worse, "Poor". The front desk is understaffed. The front desk attendant serves as operator, service coordinator, troubleshooter, etc. The rest of the personnel is very disengaged. It feels like they are not happy and they seem to be doing the minimum required of them. The staff tends to "hang out" in groups of two, doing basically nothing. Service is extremely slow or non-existent. Only a few of the employees smile or look at you in the eye. The hotel needs maintenance on the outside (painting, rust treatments, window cleaning). Our window had mold and the railings were falling apart from rust. They were very slow in refilling the breakfast offerings (even the coffee ran out) and they only have one omelette/waffle station. Soft drinks are very expensive as is most of the food (except the complimentary breakfast) I will talk about the many good things in a separate paragraph in order to do justice to this hotel.

The cost of the room is very reasonable. The rooms are relatively new and well appointed (nicer than the exterior maintenance). The pool area is inviting. The view of the golf course is fantastic. This hotel seems to cater to the golfers (nothing wrong with that) and should work well for a golfing holiday. Complimentary breakfast is a big plus. They also have plenty of parking. Many locals take advantage of the good lodging prices. You are only 20-30 minutes from Panama City but you feel you are hours away because of the secluded setting. WiFi is complimentary too and they give you a welcome drink (punch). Not bad! An undervalued feature are the two nature trails and butterfly habitat. The trails are well marked and make for a leisurely walk in the middle of the tropical jungle. You walk up and down moderately hilly terrain until you reach the railroad tracks and then have to turn back. This trail is a big plus as a similar attraction could set you back maybe $10.00 a person.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor.
