Description: Seafood plays a central role in Panama City dining—and no place captures it better than the Mercado de Mariscos. At this fish market, you’ll literally bump into fishermen carrying their catches and taking them to the many vendors inside. Be sure to order an affordable and super-fresh cup of ceviche on the first floor—or head to the super-casual but delicious sit-down seafood eatery upstairs.

“Fantastic ceviche”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014 via mobile

A great place to walk around (fish markets during the day), or sit and enjoy some great ceviche and people watch in the afternoon/evening.
Go for a place with a massive line of locals - obviously they know the ceviche is good there.

“You might take some ceviche”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2014 via mobile

This is more an attraction than a place to eat and even for an attraction it is average. However, you should go there while in Panama city as it is right next to the casco viejo. It has about 15 places where you can eat simple food, they basically all sell the same, ceviches and some fish dishes. Nothing more, nothing less.

“Rough Evening Element Worthy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014

Not to be missed, within a short stroll to the old section for a dinner and more quiet selection of nite life. The main attraction by day the market, at night it's the fish stalls offering cerviches. Loud bass driven music the norm, still worthy a small sample enroute elsewhere.

“Fresh seafood in a casual atmoshere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2014

We ate lunch at this restaurant a few times during our recent visit to Panama City, Panama and really enjoyed the food. The restaurant/diner style eatery is located in the mezzanine above the seafood market, so it is a busy and noisy place. The Peruvian Ceviche was awesome and made up of fish, octopus and squid, a nice light lunch in itself. Grilled octopus and fish fillets were good and the beer is served ice, ice, cold.
While they could use some more help taking orders and serving (the wait staff was literally running at times to try and keep up) it is a fun place to have a moderately priced fresh seafood lunch.
