“yummy breakfast, weird feeling”
Reviewed July 8, 2011

To start out, this B and B was very hard to find, it took cab drivers a lot of effort to find it. Our room was very small, only one bed. The worst part was that there was a very weird feeling in the room, the energy was very bad. The breakfast was very good though, first there was a large tray of assorted fruites, followed by yogurt and flan, and then you could choose if you wanted banana pancakes, omlet, eggs, bacon, sausage or toast. There were also some addorable stray cats that hang around the hotel that were very friendly. i expected to be able to walk to the mall from here, but there is a very busy street that is nearly impossible to cross, so you have to take a taxi. WE were told that we would be able to walk to old town, but we found out that you would have to walk though i really bad neighborhood to get there. Overall, it was allright, if dont mind bad energy in your room.

oh yeah, it smelled like mold

This review made us smile. At DP we go out of our way to indicate an easy way to walk around the area and get to the Casco Viejo on foot. Nevertheless there are countless people who take the wrong direction. So DP is to blame? Yes our hill is surrounded by a busy road, but taking a cab to the shoppingmall, the local airport and the Casco Viejo will only cost 2$ for two. From the hotels in the business center you pay a lot more. Also nobody wants to walk when it is terribly hot. This lady never asked for two beds in the room. She came with her daughter and not with her husband, as we assumed. So next to the double bed we added an extra twin bed, and yes then you're left with less space in the room. As for the "mold" , that is pure nonsense. We have no mold as our infrastructure is new and well taken care of. I explained the lady that we had the rooms recently repainted and with the rainy season and the general humidity it would be good to run the AC. When she did, it was alright she said and even left with words of praise. So we were really surprised by the tenure of this review. When guests say one thing and write the other that's kinda weird I think..

We stayed at Dos Palmitos for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. Our double room was nicely decorated and had a great shower. There are good indoor and outdoor seating areas to chill and meet other guests. As other reviewers have said the breakfasts are great, especially the banana pancakes. A walk up Ancon Hill in the early hours is a must. Our only criticism is that, although cheap, you have to get cabs everywhere and many taxi drivers seem to struggle to find the place despite being given clear instructions.

We really enjoyed our stay. Arriving late, we were welcomed and fed with a great dinner ordered at the last minute. Angelina, knowledgeable in so many langages, has such great talents in organizing outings very quickly and very efficiently. The taxi drivers she recommended were very trustworthy, reliable and friendly, the nature's guides were sharing their passion with us and were so incredibly interesting that we went for another day of walking in nature with them. It was extremely pleasant to visit Panama like if we were with friends and family instead of being in a touristic environment with workers used to tourism and doing a job, Thanks to Angelina we met great and very friendly people very knowledgeable in their field. Angelina was always available, ready to help us in any area we needed to. What a treat to stay in a very well-kept and lovely designed house with a garden a few minutes away from Casco Viejo!

We spent one night here in transition and two more after visiting the Darian region. We really enjoyed Angelines' B&B and she went the extra mile for us. She helped arrange taxi tours, fed us before 6 AM for an early departure, and even provided a substantial lunch for the road with sandwiches and cake. Her banana pancake breakfast went on my facebook travel pics. Her place was clean, quiet and well within reach of the City with a short/cheap taxi ride. The hill (Ancon Hill) on which her place sits is a gem of forest and wildlife and is well worth a walk to the top. Do not miss this view!

Panama City was our first stop on a tour through Central America and Angelina, our hostess, offerd us a great welcome to the area. We pre-booked a taxi collection from the airport which was waiting for us and took us quickly to Dos Palmitos. The guest house is in a quiet area on the slopes of Ancon Hill and it was lovely to sit on the terrace and listen to the crickets. The en-suite room was fine with A/C and a fan to cool things down. Angelina was very friendly and offered us advice on where to visit and eat/drink within Panama City. She booked excursions for us and arranged for Marvin, her taxi driver who is quite a character, to deliver and collect us for our various trips. Angelina offered us good choices for breakfast which was sufficient to see us through most of the day - she even offered us cake and coffee for our very early start when leaving for Costa Rica. We had a lovely stay at Dos Palmitos which left us with a very positive impression of Panama City.

The B&B is in a nice area, comfortable and clean. What makes this place stand out is the hospitality you receive from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. You are treated as if you are friends that have come to stay. Nothing is too much trouble, Angeline will help you plan your days in Panama, arrange sightseeing, tours, taxis, breakfast when you like/what you like...
It actually felt sad to leave.

Located at the foot of Ancon Hil you will find Dos Palmitos.
No exhaust gases or city noises, but bird songs, palmtrees, tropical flowers and quietness.
Just a few minutes by cab and you will find yourself at Casco Viejo, Mirador, shopping mall, Miraflores docks or Metropolitan National Park.
Angeline is the most helpfull host, she helped us getting around, recommended nice restaurantsand arranged cabs with reliable drivers.
Breakfast is served at the time you wish.
THE perfect place to start your holiday in Panama !!!!!!
Would I recommend this place? 100% YES !!!!!!
