I've stayed down the road at the Intercontinental and should have done so this trip as well. Very disappointing stay at the Hilton Princess Managua. Room did not look ready when I arrived, no hand towels and only 1 towel. I'd asked for a high floor room and was given one on the 1st floor. Very awkward and annoying set up with the tv cabinet - the doors that you had to open would not stay open, yet you could not open them all the way around as the case that presumably used to hold a mini fridge was in the way. A hamburger ordered from room service arrived very rare when medium was requested. To top it all off, I found out as I was getting to go to bed early for an early flight that I was on top of the kitchen. Every pot and pan banging and clanging I was stuck listening to for several hours. Absolutely no sound proofing between the floors. I wrote to Hilton after my stay but only received a "sorry" form letter in return.

Room Tip: Definitely not room #112 or around unless you want to be up all night!

This Hilton is no more than average as per worldwide Hilton standards, but is a thoroughly reasonable place to stay in Managua. Quite acceptable fitness center, pool and breakfast/lunch buffets. Good service throughout. Very clean.

The rooms are large and comfortable, although can be a little noisey due to proximity to the road. The gym was decent. Breakfast was a bit limited and the breakfast staff were fairly useless. There are a reasonable number of restaurants located on the road just to the back of the restaurant.

Definitely a good choice to consider if you are traveling to Managua on business or pleasure.

The hotel is not new, but it has been kept in good condition. The staff is professional and polite, and it is obvious that they are happy to be at work. I was impressed that the IT manager of the hotel was on the elevator with me and asked me if I was happy with the Internet connection.

The food in the restaurant is not bad. Anyone can get tired quickly of hotel food, but the staff is willing and eager to suggest changes or modifications to any meal.

The streets are not pedestrian-friendly in Managua so the hotel can feel like an island. It's not easy to escape and get outside. Certainly not the hotel's fault, but a two- or three-night stay is definitely pleasant.

Room Tip: The even-number rooms face the swimming pool and away from the street. They are most certainly quieter.

I cannot believe I haven't reviewed this hotel, after I have been in it so many times. Frequent traveler to Nicaragua. Hotel is excellent, found it quiet, though other people report otherwise, but have never had any issues whatsoever. Staff is number 1, very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend. I have probably been at this hotel at least ten times.
