Let me start by saying that I am the pickiest person ever. Am the type that looks for dust under places nobody cleans, THIS PLACE is the cleanest hotel I have ever being in. For the first time in a hotel ever, I was not bothered to walk barefooted. YUP, am that picky, I don't even walk barefoot in my own house. It was that clean!

1) Check in was a breeze
2) Friendly staff/very Helpful
3) Breakfast was very good
4)Room was super clean
5)bathroom small but very clean
6)Hot water all the time
7)Great AC -cancels outside noise

Following my fellow tripadvisors, I asked for a room opposite the pool and a higher floor they came through. First night near the pool 5th floor, asked to be changed, next day no problem 4th floor, absolutely no noise.

I was very impressed with how well they keep the place. The only thing I would suggest for them is vending machines for chips or soda, we came back late and the kitchen was closed before the time stated and was told there was nothing available in the area to be delivered. That was unexpected, being that it was Friday and before 10 pm. Went upstairs looked on the yellow pages and got pizza delivered before 10:30. They should provide a food/delivery listing for customers if they get into the hotel late, but that was not a turn off. I managed.

I really enjoyed my time at Hotel Hex. The bed was comfortable, lots of pillows, clean towels everyday and very friendly staff. Teresa at the front desk is a great girl, Supervisor of cleaning Crew (Yahaira I think) was extremely helpful and accommodating.

The shuttle in the morning prompt, quick and free.

Nothing but good things to say about this hotel. Stay here you wont regret it. I will for sure return

Room Tip: High room, opposite the pool. Get the junior suite, little bigger + a mini fridge

To me, it felt just like a topnotch budget hotel in the US. Everything I needed was there--and everything went smoothly. It reminded me somewhat of La Quinta Inns. The room was compact but not at all cramped. Clock radio, flat screen tv, art over the bed, room safe, soap, shampoo—it was all there. The hotel had a meeting room, business center, fitness room, and outdoor pool.

A few differences stood out. The breakfast buffet Sunday morning was extensive—far more than eggs, rolls, juice, and cereal. To turn on power to the air conditioner and lights in my room, I had to stick my key card in a slot-switch just inside the door. Like a number of hotels outside the US, the bathroom did not have washcloths. The elevators were smaller than most in the US—but with a very clean, very futuristic shiny metal appearance.

The hotel is a few miles from the airport. The hotel shuttle ride there took 12 minutes at about 5 a.m. with no traffic delays. The hotel is in Bello Horizonte, a Managua neighborhood that some regard as middle class; keep in mind that “middle class” in Managua does not mean what it does in the US. Don’t expect beautiful vistas from your room. The hotel adjoins a shopping mall (Las Americas) that, to me, seemed dominated by cell phone service centers, shoe stores, and motorcycle galleries. When I visited it, a large Latin dance group was performing in the central court. There’s also a large supermarket. A convention center was under construction. Unlike some tropical hotels, you won’t find an extensive set of gardens. The building is deep red—which creates an attractive aesthetic.

My room had no problems whatsoever. Front desk staff were friendly and efficient. They handled issues in English and Spanish. I ordered a lunch that was delivered to me at a poolside table; I was in no particular rush and the speed of service was not particularly delayed. When I asked for ketchup for my fries, they brought it right away. The shuttle drivers were friendly, and I enjoyed a conversation on my ride in from the airport--a great start for my stay in Nicaragua.

This is exactly the kind of hotel I choose when I’m paying for it myself in the US: conveniently located, well maintained, full service—and reasonably priced. I’m glad I was there for my stay in Managua.

Haven't been to Nicaragua in a while. Nice to see solid hotels popping up. This one is next to a new convention center under construction and a shopping mall. I think there is also a La Colonia grocery store nearby. Security was good. Never felt unsafe. No bars on windows. Surprised to see quite a few Americans and Europeans staying there. Stayed here for over a week, so I got to see a good bit of the hotel in action.

Interior very sleek looking. Everything was well attended to. Clean. Housekeeping staff was solid. Even accidently left money and cameras laying about and had no problems. Air Conditioner works. Showers fine. Rooms are small though. Like Manhattan hotel rooms. Perfectly comfortable but standard "city" size rooms.

Nice big breakfast in the mornings! Had drinks with ice and had no issues. The restaurant sells bottled water and sodas till 9pm. Kitchen not open very late at all, though.

The pool area is nice, lots of tables and comfy chairs but the pool is tiny. Just a small lounging pool. Little kids can still get in and splash about. There are lounge chairs stationed in the water for nice relaxing. The sounds of the city can be heard.

There is no gym really, just two treadmills and an elliptical machine in a room. But there is tv and ipods can be hooked up to treadmill.

Taxi service available and direct transportation to airport.

There are two cool, good places to eat very close to the hotel. One is in walking distance if you feel comfortable. Chili's Mexican Restaurant (not the Chili's from the U.S.) Very nice staff. Food was hearty. Sports on the tv if that's your thing. Can sit outside also in the warm nice warm air. Don't forget to pay the man to watch your car if you are driving and decide to park. The other place is La Campana. Good food. huge open dining area. Good waiters. Nice décor.

Only cons--Wifi was really hit or miss. Super frustrating. Rooms near the pool are not the quietest. The pool is a bar at night and the music could be heard in the room occasionally.

Overall, a very solid option in the city.

We stayed in this hotel our first night in Nicaragua after a long flight. The room was small but nice and clean and the bathroom was very nice. It had hot water and air conditioning and there was a pool that we didn't use but would have if we'd had more time. The breakfast was one of the best we had. It was typical Nica food in a buffet with eggs, gallo pinto, fruit, meat, juice, coffee, and plantains. It was also next to a mall type thing that had a grocery store in it.

When our usual Managua airport standby (Camino Real) was fully booked, we ended up at the Hotel Hex. Given the location, it was surprisingly quiet. The rooms were well appointed, the beds were quite comfortable. I found the pool area attractive and the breakfast more than adequate (not the Camino Real, but not bad).

My only real complaint is that the "junior suite" is just a room with a king bed so why that should cost more or be labeled a "suite" I do not know. The only other room option was a room with 2 singles. I didn't know modern hotels even had rooms with twin beds any more. My sister and her husband were traveling with their daughter and Hotel Hex had no way to accommodate this. The options were that the 3 of them sleep in 2 twin beds or the 3 of them sleep in one king bed. They could have paid for an extra room for her to have her own of course but that was pretty unrealistic. The hotel had no provision to add a cot to a room nor did they have a room with 2 queens. I found this really surprising (not to mention inconvenient) for a modern hotel.

We had been on a week long mission trip in the Granada area, we stayed at the HEX on Friday night in order to catch our flight back to Houston. It was a nice place, the pool was beautiful and the rooms clean and comfortable, and the staff has kind and helpful. The dinner was just okay, but we didn't have to leave the hotel to find a meal. I appreciated the free wi-fi to get caught back up with the world...and they got us to the airport in plenty of time to fly home.

Room Tip: I shared a room with a friend, we had twin beds with thick mattresses...we slept well.
