We found it hard to find a clean room in a good location in San Salvador. Villa del Angel certainly fulfils on both points, the room was spacious, modern and clean with cable TV and decent wifi. Breakfast was also included in the rate. The Villa del Angel was two minutes from a mall with a fast food court and cinema complex which is great, it is however a 5-10 minute drive to Zona Rosa where the chain hotels are based.

Initially the receptionist and owners were engaging and happy to help with any queries we had with tours and taxis etc offering their own taxi services which goes onto your room bill which is handy. Please note however that they'll quote you for 7USD one way for trips to Zona Rosa and Downtown which if you hail a taxi yourself will only cost you about 4USD.

We also booked a private driver with them at the cost of 100USD for the day. It was a fantastic trip to the Mayan ruins, museums and the lake, beware however that on top of this cost you have to pay entrance for your driver into the sites and also buy him lunch which adds 20-25% on top of the cost.

The next day the owners tried to hard sell other tours and once they found that we weren't interested their attitude changed. On check out we were told that we could only pay the room by card, the tour only by cash which made no sense, when we told them how disappointed we were they then proceeded to say that they hadn't charged us for finding out tour information!

So great room, just beware of the hard sell

This is a great hotel with wonderful Air Conditioning and reliable pickup from the Airport. Daniel gave us a wonderful introduction to the country and even stopped at a Supermarket on the way. We enjoyed our stay and felt very safe and comfortable here.

Arriving into San Salvador after a 14 hours bus ride from Nicaragua this place was a welcome relief. We were picked up at the bus station by Mario and taken straight to the hotel. We are backpackers so this was a luxury we do not usually afford ourselves.
Tired and hungry they prepared a sandwich and chips for us even though the kitchen was closed.
The internet worked in all areas which was a delight after having been in so many places where it didn't work. Not having that frustration of not connecting online really adds to the easy feeling one hopes for when arriving in a new city.
The decor is minimal and clean and white. The room was big and spotlessly clean, the beds were super comfortable. The shower was amazing. Super hot water and strong pressure.
Although this hotel was out of our budget we thoroughly enjoyed all these luxuries and it was worth every cent for the night.
Jessica on reception was truly helpful, before and during our stay. She is an amazing asset to this hotel. She also helped us with finding a place to stay in El Tunco and arranged for Mario to drive us there as well.
The terrace was lovely to sit in the sun but breakfast was average.
This was a great place to catch our breath and I would definitely recommend and return there.

We spent just one night here prior to a mission trip. Loved it. Beautiful, funky decor, great breakfast. We had time for a visit to the art museum, and could walk to the grocery store. Comfy beds and very quiet. Stay here for a relaxing break!

This hotel is wonderful; great service, clean and easy access as the location is perfect! It's located near Galerias (huge mall) and around you can find several good restaurants, one of my favorites was La Panaderia de Mi Cuadra located north of the hotel, cheap, clean, excellent food and service with breakfast and lunch available... I would definitely come back to this hotel!
