I asked a private guided tour last week. This was my first visit to Kiev, Ukraine. Before coming the city, I had no knowledge about the capital and the country except for Chernobyl, Euromaidan, Holodomor and so on. Ms. Slava, a friendly tour guide, took me several places such as Maidan, St. Michael’s Cathedral, St. Sophia’s Cathedral and Golden Gate. She also took me to some murals, including famous one and unknown one. Additionally, although I don’t remember its name, an Ukrainian restaurant she took me and had a lunch together was so excellent!! Through the tour, three and a half hours, I learned not only the hidden stories on the landmarks, but also how Ukrainian people loved their own land and tried to make the society better. Now I want to learn about Ukraine more, thus her guide has developed my intellectual curiosity. I appreciate especially the point. Excellent tour to learn and explore the city!!

宿泊したホステルを通じて個人ガイドを依頼。やってきたスラバさんは非常に社交的で親しみやすい人柄。日本語は話さないものの日本びいきな方で、3時間半が足早に過ぎました。2014 年に起きた、大統領退陣を促したデモの舞台となった広場や大聖堂、壁画などを探索。街の概要を知るのにとても良い。料金は私の場合55ユーロでした。ウクライナの事をもっと学んだ上で、再訪した際はまたガイドをお願いしたいと思います。彼女のガイドを経験した人なら誰もが、ウクライナについてもっと知りたくなるでしょう。おすすめのレストランも教えてくれます。

Thanks Olga for a great tour of Lavra! We had a great time exploring the area, seeing the miniature museum and a fantastic lunch with traditional Ukrainian food. Would recommend to anyone who is interested in Ukrainian history and seeing one of the main sites in the city!

This tour company was selected for us by our company (we were on a business trip and wanted to see Kiev)
We had three tours - each lasting all day - with Kiev Friendly Tours. There were 3-5 people in our group each day. Had our own driver in a comfortable van, very comfortable company.
The owner of the company speaks perfect English AND is a native of Kiev - huge pluses.
And she obviously understands how to give an excellent tour - well picked sights, in depth knowledge of the history and context of each sit, able to adapt to any pace (we wanted more time at some locations than others and she didn't freak out or force us to stick to her schedule). The first day we went to Maidan square and she related the whole story - so timely! She was actually in Kiev at the time of events - so even more compelling to hear about it. Also excellent visit to Chernobyl museum - and she had a separate EXTREMELY knowledgable guide waiting for us there - SO GREAT! She picked really cool restaurants (Kanapa, Spotykach) and sites. HIGHEST RATING for tours - this company has it all worked out.
