I echo CarmenSandiego's comments below.

I would have given this 3 stars but I think everyone should know about this tragic event, unless they have no interest whatsoever. You definitely need the audioguide, and it is actually very good and provides all the information you need; most of the artifacts aren't important.

I also had some difficulty finding it. It's on a short side street close to Kontraktova metro. Best suggestion would be just to ask locals. Just say "gde Chornobyl musee" (sounds like guh-dee-eh Chor-no-bull mew-zay) which simply means "where is the Chernobyl Museum."

Good but very little English signage and it made me long to go to the actual Chernobyl site. There are audio guides available but it cost 5 times the amount of the entry ticket, which is ridiculous. Audio guides should be optional not mandatory to walk through the museum.

if you have a couple of hours to spare i would suggest you visit this museum.Although only 2 large rooms,it contains archive footage and photos of the horrific accident, including the heroic people who were first on the scene and died soon after.as with most kiev museums, not much english is around but the images need no translation.Note that access to the museum is actually at the rear of the building so dont be put off by seeing no sign for it where you might expect it,as i was!! entrance fee is less than a pound so well worth the chance to pay your respects to one of the soviets saddest moments in their history.

Very humbling and well done museum that everyone should visit at least one time when in Kyiv. Much of it is done in black and white and such contrasts are evident throughout the museum.

I write this short review a few hours before I go to the big C and Pripyat. Truly thought provoking. The brave Ukranians who risked their lives to save their people and arguably the World. Great respect. Sellafield Execs pay a visit soon. A definite must see. This is no chucklefest. It is a must see though. I hope to never see a similar museum anywhere in the museum.
