But I don't like the way as I was treated last time.

If there is a price on the menu, if there is written xxx UAH for xxx ml of wine..and I ask for this xxx ml of this wine....it's not fair at all to charge more ml than requested!
After I asked to the waitress the reason of this overcharging, the answer was really ...unbelievable : we don't serve only xxx of wine!!

So : why do you write such amount on the menu????

I'll take time to forget about it!

I was just one time there and can say that food is really tasty there, they try to implement home-made things as much as possible, also they have good selection of wines!

Opened in 1995, some of the original decorating touches are fading (delightful hand painted cartoon figures in the washrooms) but the basic basement cosiness of a cellar with oak tables, dark wood bar and bright walls was never meant to be anything but a nice bistro. What sets it apart is a consistent foundation of homemade pastas, interesting dishes and a long carefully selected wine list at (for Kiev) very reasonable prices. Although popular with the expat community, it is resolutely not a tourist destination and little english is spoken (although enough to take a dinner order). The terrace is delightful in warm weatjher but disappears entirely in Winter so be prepared to look for a naked entrance if visiting in winter months.

First time I have been there was coming directly from Rome - my friends booked a table at this italian restaurant and I was afraid that it will stand no comparison with any of my preferred places in Rome. Wrong: Pantagruel could be in any Italian city - food is great, pasta just al dente, as they should be, bresaola coming from the best salumeria in Italy and burrata straight from Puglia. It is amazing to find a place so close to best italian benchmarks in Kiev - do to miss it as it is worth a visit !
