Nice hotel. All clean. Near metro station. But terrible breakfast, I recommend eating at the cafe on the corner. Named city cafe. Nice staff in the hotel)) beautiful views of the river from the room (21 floor)

I booked this hotel through Expedia and it was a standard double room. We could not sleep as it did not have aircon and no ventilation at all. Tried to sleep with open window and noise was terrible from nearby Metro train and roads.Bathroom was too small and shape of the bath was unusual/uncomfortable.We had to upgrade to a room with aircon.Building is an old Soviet style. My advice is never to book a standard room in this hotel.Rooms smell to tobacco.Rooms are clean and daily house keeping is available. You will end up watching a 14" TV with only Russian and Ukranian channels. Why can not they put at least BBC news 24? I was OK as I speak Russian. We were the only foreigners apart from Russians during our 5 day stay.Staff are OK.They do their job and that is all.I think it is better to stay in another hotel for that money.

Room Tip: Never book a standard room in this hotel.Ask for a room with aircon and away from road side if possi...

Stayed here for one night while on assignment nearby.

From what I've understood these are two hotels that share the same name and almost the same door, this one at least is pretty decent considering you're in the Ukraine.

The place looks terrible from the outside (degraded Soviet style) but has actually quite nice refurbished rooms. The hotelbar is a true relic from the old days and so are some of the staff. There's quite a bit of difference between the individuals in terms of friendliness (experienced both sides of the scale).

The room is okay, more than enough space and the beds were great actually (I'm 9ft3"). The room was quiet and had an great view over the market place. The only downside was the sun hitting my side early and the curtains weren't up to the task.

Other than that: airco worked fine (highly necessary in summer!), shower was okay (warm) and the room was clean and spacy.

been to this hotel on my first stay to Ukraine. when you have no abilities to understand the local language, this is the place to be. the location is very easy to find and is most conveniant if you are in for the kiev exhibition center. as soon as you'll exit the Levoberezniya metro station on the red line. you will see it in front of you. getting to the exhibition center is easy job as well. you turn left after the hotel and then left again after the bridge, you cross a "'novus" shop than go for another 2-3 minutes and you're there. second reason to stay in this hotel is the staff which was english speakers, very acomotating and trying to help with all theat i needed. especially the lovely girl in the reception- Julia. She came out of her way to assist me on several occasions and she deserves all the credit for it. other than these two reason the hotel is preety bad... old, badly decorated, rundown, poor facilities. free wifi in the lobby only, or subject to payments in your room. breakfast is decent and satisfying.

Room Tip: high floor is recomanded and on the side opposite to the train railways . ask for a room on the nort...

I would like to warn people to stay away from this hotel and not to repeat my mistake. I stayed in this hotel in July 2011. The room I got was tiny and extremely hot. So hot that there was no air to breathe. Bed was small. Floor was dirty.
The toilet on the ground floor was so disgusting and there was no paper at all. When I came to the reception and ask for some paper they replied that it happens all the time and they can't help me.
Breakfast .... I have nothing to say. I have never seen such a breakfast buffet in my whole life. It looked disgusting. So if there is possibility to stay away from paying breakfast, do not hesitate to do it.
Every time when I went to my room I was checked for keys and that is really annoying. Try to look for smth other options coz hotel is not worth money you pay.
Regards

Dear Victoria R.

We thank you a lot for your review. We would be happy to have it received earlier for you speak of your experience in our hotel which is 7 months old.
Nevertheless we must admit that the tiny room you had was an economy single room for 60 dollars. It doesn't have air conditionning and that is not hidden by the hotel. Every Internet source that books our hotel outlines this information. If you walked in to the hotel we always warn clients and propose them to see the room. Besides one can always change the room after having seen it - we accept that and even propose a free upgrade for unsutisfied clients if we have rooms.
We do not hide that some rooms are shabby and that's why we called the "economy". But we are always open to resolve guests' problems if they communicate us any.
The toilet on the ground floor is not really for hotel guests. We have a lot of restaurants, cafes airline and train tiket desks, boutiques and shops on the ground floor. So that toilet has an important flow of visitors and it could happen that there was no paper. On the other hand hotel guests after the breakfast may visit our restaurant toilets just nearby on the 1st floor. There is no reason to go downstairs.
For the brakfast it could be true for July 2011, though it seems like you were late for breakfast. Here is a quotation from a december stay which reflects perfectly the real situation: "What was surprisingly good was the ample breakfast buffet (included) in the complex' restaurant (a bit difficult to find though)."
To finish with that response we would like to say that we try to be a low cost 3* hotel just 10 minites away from the center. But one must always be ready that a room for 60 dollars is just a room for 60 dollars.
Thank you.

You will find Turist Hotel in a neighbourhood full of precast concrete buildings built in the soviet era. It stands tall with 25 floors, about 7 kilometres away from the city centre on the east side of the Dnjepr river. A subway station, bus stops, shops, pubs and restaurants and a travel agent are in the immediate vicinity.
Check-in went surprisingly smooth and efficient, the lobby staff even had a smile or two to spare! Accepted means of payment are Cash (hrivna only!) and credit cards.
The rooms are a bit outdated, the tv set only shows Ukrainian/ Russian channels. What's really letting the hotel down is the state of the bathroom: lots of cracked tiles, mildew, the mirror was half- blind, they toilet bowl wasn't screwed to the floor. The bath tub was way too small (I am 6'2") but frankly, the whole room wasn't very inviting to stay longer than necessary.
What was surprisingly good was the ample breakfast buffet (included) in the complex' restaurant (a bit difficult to find though).
All in all, I wouldn't want to stay there for longer, however if you're looking for affordable accommodation for one or two nights, Turist Hotel isn't the worst of choices.

Dear Dirk 0602. Thank you for the review. We have nothing to add or disagree. The comments on the bathroom are correct for economy room bathroom. Standard rooms have better facilities and enjoy a splendid panoramic view.
The breakfast is really good for 3* hotel. Though it's served on the 1st floor it can only be accessed through the ground floor.
Thank you once more and be welcome again!
