It was my last night in Kiev before returning home. I was looking for a nice place to have our last meal before departing early the next morning. We walked around the Metra area which is surrounded by a farmers market including many fast food restaurants where one could find an inexpensive meal, like McDonalds, and a Ukrainian equivalent of McDonalds. By chance as we were walking I saw this restaurant from the other side of street. I decide on a lark we would eat there. I wanted it to be something special. I can say I was not disappointed. It is an Italian restaurant and many of the items on the menu were Italian. My friend ordered a tomato and Mozzarella salad and I ordered an eggplant appetizer. I had a house glass of red wine which I found quite palatable. My meal was a beef mixed in with potatoes and a beef sauce. The flavors were delicious. Both of us felt our meals were outstanding and the restaurant was worthwhile going back to. We ate on the outside veranda area overlooking a main street. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good. It was clean and organised. The servers were efficient but there was an obvious language gap. Although the servers were professional in their demeanor I found them quite emotionless, hardly ever cracking a smile even though I tried to be as friendly and nice to them as possible. Maybe this is a cultural thing as I have found this to be the norm in Kiev with wait staff. All in all I found this a delightful restaurant and would highly recommend it.
