After lots of research into the best chicken kiev in Kiev, we decided to give this place a go. It's a small local restaurant near Independence square. Service was very friendly and after sitting down and ordering, I had high hopes for my meal.
We share a starter of dumplings, which to be fair were very tasty. We ordered the meat option and they came served in a little pot with a side of sour cream. I think there were 8-10 in total, which was a great size.
Then it came to the much anticipated chicken kiev, which I was so looking forward to, especially after reading good reviews about this restaurant. Oh the disappointment.....it was unbearable. The chicken looked perfectly shaped with a crisp coating. However upon cutting it, the chicken was not a proper chicken breast but some chopped and shaped chicken pieces mushed together. There wasn't an ounce of garlic butter inside, it was bone dry. It was quite unpleasant.
After that we just paid and left, the meal was a complete disappointment. The only saving grace were the dumplings.
