Advantages: new beautiful hotel building, clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, wonderful peaceful area around the hotel, reasonable price/quality ratio;
Disadvantages: physically demanding (for the older) walk from/to metro (need to go up a long stairway to one station and down Andreevskiy descent to the other), not much space in the rooms, no buffet breakfast (fixed menu).
Overall, a great choice for young people, especially travelling alone; can also be good for adults who do not mind light physical exercise.

We stayed here for 5 nights in Oct. 2013. It is very clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is in a new/ rebuilt section of Kiev, which at times feels like a ghost town because no one has really moved into the area yet. However, this is a huge bonus right now because it is very quiet. I don't know if this will change, but for now, it's perfect. It takes about 7-8 minutes of walking before you arrive at St. Andrews descent, and it is centrally located to other parts of town (but unfortunately not close to any metro stops). Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Kiev.

It happened to me that I had I problem with my reservation in another hotel and then I booked the Gonchar. I have to say that I was happy for my stay there. The room was ok with windows with a nice sight.
The only drawback was that I was at the second floor and there was not a lift. After this I found always very professional and nice people at the reception ( many times they called me a taxi fixing very convenient fares).
The breakfast was my favourite part. A man (looking like Bob Hoskins) without speaking a word of english asked me if I wanted the day dish. The first day I took three fried eggs while the second I could choose also chicken(!).

I can hardly recommend you this hotel. The nice young staff make you feel welcome and home.
You live in a very nice quarter of Kiev, just 500m from the beautiful church St. Andrew. Walking distance to the Main Street of Kiev. Many nice cafes and restaurants in short distance from the hotel. Hotel is very clean and with big windows giving the room a lt of light. The area is very quiet with no traffic.

The hotel is situated within a 5 minutes distance from Andreevsky Descent in a very quiet part of Kiev.
It is a modern building, the rooms are well-furnished and very clean. The water in the shower is hot. They offer dressing gowns, slippers, bath soaps and shampoos and drinking water in bottles. There is also a hair dryer and a minibar.
The hotel offers substantial breakfast and free wi-fi. The staff is friendly and eager to help.

It might be a little difficult to find the way to the hotel for the first time if you go by foot.

The hotel is located in 10-12 minutes walk from Maydan, 5 minutes from Andreevskiy cathedral. It is situated on the quiet street. There is lots of greenery around, so air is fresh an clean. My room was even better than in the 4-stars Kharviv Hotel in Kharkiv. All the equipment is new, perfectly clean and modern. I had dressing gown, house slippers, several towels, free water. What is more, the room was unexpectedly large and the bed was really comfortable! The staff was very polite, friendly and compassionate. They tried there best to solve any of my desires. I was leaving at 5AM and the hotel prepaired for me surprisingly large and tasty packed breakfast. Even in the 4-stars hotels I have net got such packed meals! I would strongly recommend this hotel for everyone who is going to stay in Kiev!
