I joined the day tour to Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant because I, as a Japanese suffering similar situation to Chernobyl, wanted to know what happened there in the past. And I believe it was worth to do!
It began with an impressive film about the accident in 1986. On the way from city center in Kyiv, we watched the 1.5 hour film, and it explained the overview of the accident perfectly. Inside the gate 30 km from the power plant, a tour guide explained every detail by very specific examples. Also he answered literally all the questions we had. Without such guides, it would be very difficult to know what's happening there, because the whole town looked like normal, quiet rural town. Through this tour, I acquired whole picture of such accident, so I strongly recommend this tour if you want to know about the accident.
