an interesting museum beginning with the stone age to the present time lots of interesting things to see but all the descriptions are in Ukrainian so unless you have a good guide or can read Ukrainian I think it would be difficult to appreciate the vast array of artefacts
You are followed ladies who turn lights on and off as you move from room to room and climb the four floors of this regal building.

The museum is in the Pechersk Lavra complex. It may be hard to find. There is a separate ticket need to get into the museum. The museum has gold and precious medal artifact from 2000 BC to 1900. The workmanship is very good. The signs on the glass case was in Ukraine and English.
The washrooms just outside and down the hill are just hole in the floor.

Of the museums included in the Lavra ticket, this is the one to see first. Incredible display of gold artifacts createdby the nomadic Scythian tribes that roamed Ukraine during the first millennium AD

This museum is part of the Lavra complex and is closed on Monday. It costs 30 UAH or about $3.50 to enter. Bags and purses need to be checked before entering the museum. This museum covers gold and metallic jewelry, crowns, elaborately decorated books, horse harnesses from 4 BC to the present. There are security guards who are vigilant in watching you in each room. There is an adult set of bones and a child set of bones buried with pieces of gold on display. Each display has very brief English descriptions. There are two levels. Some of the B.C. jewelry is quite elaborate. I would recommend going to this museum even though we were the only ones there. There were some crowns with jewels and some Jewish religious items on display as well. I would recommend going to this museum when you are at the Lavra.
