We have recently returned from our second stay at the Rus (5 nights in May 2012 and 3 nights in May 2013). This is a multi-storey, high rise 3 star hotel with nearly 450 rooms. We have stayed in the standard rooms and these are small. However, the rooms are well furnished, clean, tidy and air conditioned. If your budget allows it, then upgrade to a superior room which equates to the size of a standard room in most hotels of this grade. Where this hotel really excels is in its facilities and staff attitudes. The ground floor lobby and sushi bars are well stocked, inexpensive and the staff are friendly. The 24 hour first floor terrace bar has an inexpensive menu and drinks are also cheap. The breakfast buffet has to be seen to be believed. The range of bread, cakes, pastries, meats, sushi, fruit, vegetables, potatoes, cereals, rice, pancakes, etc is astonishing and throughout breakfast service a pianist plays a grand piano in the adjoining lobby. I had to be dragged away from breakfast every morning! Reception staff speak English and are friendly and helpful. I mentioned that we had to check out before breakfast on our last day. Staff arranged for a packed, picnic style, breakfast to be left at reception on our departure. This was made up of sandwiches, cakes, pastries, fruit, water and juice. Very welcome. In short, if you can put up with smaller than usual rooms, this hotel is hard to beat.
