Kiev is a beautiful city with history and charm, but what's more, everywhere you look it exudes so much potential. Nothing epitomises this more than the brand new luxury Fairmont Grand Hotel right near the indomitable Dnipro River. The rooms are incredibly spacious throughout with thoughtful decor that constantly invited us not to explore the wonderful surrounds that the superb location has to offer (the very cool funicular which connects to the main town is only a few minutes away).
By far and away though the best thing about this hotel though was the service (somewhat a surprise in a city like Kiev). James Taylor and his team in the Gold Lounge catered for our every whim with good nature and a smile, nothing was too much for them including arranging a late night meal for us and even a special surprise in our room! Housekeeping kept our mess in good order and we didn't want for a thing during our entire stay.
We will definitely return if given the opportunity, it may have been cold outside but the welcome was always warm.More
