Everything is nice. The travel, food, scene, as I expected. There was video about the background, and also the guide showed us the pictures of how those places originally look like. We also went to a few scenes that appeared in many famous games.

I booked this tour through UK travel company Lupine Travel. The start was a little chaotic due to not being sure which bus I was meant to be getting on at the pick up point (there was 5 one day tour and 1 two day tour groups leaving from the same place!) But after finally finding the right one, and getting a warm welcome from the tour guide as he checked our passports we were off!

On the way to the zone we watched various parts of documentaries and film about the disaster on the on board tv, and our guide, Alex, introduced himself and where we were going, as well as asking if there was any particular places we wanted to see whilst we were there.

Once we arrived at the zone Alex made sure we saw the things we wanted to, chopping and changing plans as needed to ensure we got the best of our time there. It was very busy (over 1,300 people on the first day!) so at times we did have to try and dodge the other tour groups, but small reroutes often meant we were able to miss others and see everything properly.

The food at the hotel did leave a little to be desired but was generally edible (if you're a fussy eater bring plenty of snacks!). Also worth taking some dog food/snacks for the Chernobyl dogs if you're a dog lover.

I would certainly recommend the 2 day tour over the one day tour as you can see so so much more. We were able to go out and see additional places in the evening as well, as in the morning, whilst allowing proper time to explore that you would never have had chance to do in one day.

I would also recommend October as a good time to go as the days are long enough to see what you want, and the lack of leaves on the trees means you can actually see the buildings, something that would be impossible during the summer.

You do need to be pretty fit and healthy to do this tour as theres quite a lot of walking involved (We were doing about 20k steps a day) plus a bit of clambering, but it was worth it for the experience we received.

Alex and our driver (who's name I'm afraid I'm not sure how to spell) were both brilliant. And the driver especially so for making the journey on rather poor roads as good as it was. Alex was always happy to answer our questions and had a great knowledge of the zone and its history. He also had his own personal connection to the disaster with his grandfather having been one of the liquidators.

We had such a great group and everyone really enjoyed their time and I'm sure we would all recommend both the tour and Alex.

SoloEast were spot on. We had Anya as our guide and Alex as our driver. Was so refreshing to have 2 people who quite obviously, thoroughly enjoy their job and delivered an enthused tour. The 2 hour journey from Kyiv was filled with a DVD documentary so went quick enough. We saw all the popular sites you see from the Internet, Call Of Duty etc and some more which they impressively squeeze in. They really had a good concern for safety but gave us enough freedom, some of the places like the fairground we were given 10 minutes free roam time. Honestly, I can not write it all in a review. Just DO it, it is very cheap for the experience and it DOES deliver. Also, make sure you tip! Some people on our bus didn't, and tbh, just rude. Its cheap enough and its an awe inspiring trip. P.S. The included food is solidly average and they give you enough plus a bottle of water which will do! There are also a fair few other tours going on but it ain't too bad!

I would highly recommend this tour! Oleg, our guide, was professional, informative and enthusiastic. He answered every question and was very informed about Chornobyl and Pripyat.
The tour was very well organized--long enough to see everything; appropriate breaks for photos and time to experience everything.
Thank you Solo East and Oleg!
