We stayed at the recently opened Ibis Shevchenko over Christmas for three nights.
The hotel keeps up with the IBIS brand and offers clean and affordable accommodation. The rooms are small and functional, standard 'out of the tin' Ibis stuff. Staff are efficiently, mostly friendly, and well trained. What marks this hotel out as a particularly good find is the price. Compare this hotels rates with other hotels in the capital and you'll see, for what you get, they're offering a great deal!
Well done Ibis! Its great to see an international brand that isn't to over priced in Kyiv!
Ibis is always Ibis all over the world, so no surprise.
It's an easy one, quite well located with Metro station at 400 meters.
It's clean and new.
Opted for the Ibis after our original (and much more expensive) hotel couldn't accommodate us for an extra night. Initially a little hard to find – the entrance is actually tucked away off the main street. Very convenient location, a Metro is close by and the railway station is a walkable distance (handy if arriving or leaving by train). We asked for a room overlooking the park and ended up with a good corner room on the 11th floor. Room was roomier that I had expected, very clean and well kept if lacking a little in character. Wood floors, flat screen TV with a large and excellent shower added to a modern and comfortable feel. Didn't make use of the breakfast or bar as there are enough places locally to cover most needs, including shops, bars, and a good supermarket a short walk away. Staff very professional and efficient and I was pleasantly surprised.
New hotel with decent price per night compared with other hotels around. Good location close to mall, cafe and pubs. Quiet side on the botanical grades view. The rooms are small and toilet is really "croudy" but overall, decen stay
This Ibis is nicely located, really cool view over Kiev. 15 min walk to Khrechatik. It's definately not the best I've been to, but it is new, the rooms are being cleaned daily. Don't take breakfasts (90 UAH = $12) - they are overated and not that good. Go to some caffes around instead - you can have a better breakfast 3 times cheaper there. The staff is ok, speaks some English.
