Ibis Kiev City Center
Ranked #10 of 112 Hotels in Kiev
Certificate of Excellence

the hotel is brand new, only few months old and, as all new Ibis hotels, the standard is quite good. The room is clean, tv flat screen and wireless internet free of charge are provided. the restaurant provides good quality as well as good service to the clients. The hotel position is quite good and the Kiev main street Kreshatik can be reached with a easy 10 minutes walk.
The best thing is the affordable price for Kiev: for the same rate you can get and old fashioned ukranian hotel with no services and very old furnitures.

The entrance of the ibis hotel is a bit hidden and does not give you an open and welcome feeling. When you come inside, you meet friendly staff that speaks very good english, something that is unusual in Kiev, a pleasant surprise. The rooms are very clean - also unusual in Ukraine - the bed is fine, allthough we did not sleep very well (hard matras? / air in the room?) the bathroom is good and clean, everything in the hotel smells new and looks good. The price compared to the quality is good. The price of the breakfast is too high - 10 euro each - compared to what you get, but there is no good breakfast alternative in the surroundings :-( The hotel is a 30 minutes walk to bessarabska square and only 3 minutes to the metro, and within 3 minutes by metro you are at the indepence square.

It's IBIS, so you shouldn't expect luxury nor outstanding design.
Still, it's modern, new, clean and well priced, which is not usual in this beautiful city.
Located very close to city heartbeat and metro station.
Rooms are simple, but furniture is brand new and bathroom quite big.
You can't say that about the size of the beds (in twin room), which are too narrow to rpovide a good night sleep. Probably the queen/king rooms are much better in that aspect.
Free Wi-Fi across the property.
Breakfast is really rudimentary and you can feel that IBIS touch here most tough way.

Bottom line - maybe not very romantic, but a strong medium-class stay for business traveller.

Room Tip: Beware of the narrow beds in twin rooms.

I go often to Kiev for business trips and this hotel has become a nice alternative (quality-service-price) in Kiev.
But our group was competely disappointed by the way the hotel driver treated us. He named (via reception!) for his service an amount which we agreed to pay and when we arrived to the place he doubled the price. He said, he didn't care about anything, hotel reputation or any other topics. He just let us down like in Asian markets. When you hear foreigners talking, you try to get most of them. I complained to the hotel, but no reaction, no excuses...

A very modern and well equiped hotel, rooms are nice, quiet and the bathroom is huge. The restaurant staff is friendly and they have a good choice of meals and very good wines. contrary to a lot of others restaurant in Kiev, here there are no "girls" in the bar/hall waiting for expatriated man... a nice change! The only problem is that there is no private parking for the hotel's guests.

As with all other Ibis hotels, I got exactly what I expected; clean and quiet room, reasonable selction of food and drink, and a good night's sleep. Satisified customer!

Unlike other Ibis hotels, the electronic systems are very slow: 35 mins to check in (no queue!), 20 mins to check out, 10 mins to process credit card in restaurant. Not the fault of the staff, who were very apologetic, kind and helpful. Maybe internet speed etc is a local problem, not just the Ibis? In any case, it needs sorting before the hotel is at full capacity for Euro 2012 next summer!

New hotel opened mid August 2011. Staff were fantastic, especially Artum (on reception). The hotel is very modern and the restaurant has western style meals, pasta etc. Breakfast is fairly basic. Location is excellent, near a large mall. Within walking distance to all major attractions. Easily do a walking loop. Airport transfers to this hotel should not cost more than 250 UAH. I stayed an extra night because i was so impressed. Had a room on the 8th floor which overlooked the city, but the wi-fi signal was not very strong. Staff happily changed my room, very impressive. I had rooms on the 10th & 7th floor. Weekend rates (660 UAH) seem to be cheaper. Free wi-fi in the room is a real bonus too.

Room Tip: ask for a room overlooking the gardens. also, rooms on the 8th floor facing the city do not seem to...
