“Maree C - Australia”

It was amazing. The ceiling was covered completely by incredible paintings. Typified an old Russian Orthodox church. One of my favorite in Kiev.

“Remember To Look Up!!”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

This is a truly beautiful church. As with most Ukrainian churches, the interior is incredibly ornate filled with tombs and beautifully painted walls. I have visited when a service has been in progress and, as someone who is not religious, I found it quite a humbling experience. When we were last here on Saturday, many of the female visitors were not wearing scarves, although if you can you would probably feel more at ease. My tip is to venture right in and look up into the dome. There is a recommended donation of 5 hryvnia if you wish to take photos and 10 hryvnia if you want to film. There is extensive religious memorabilia and souvenirs on sale.

“The yellow beauty in the middle of the city”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

Calm and distinctive, this little church is a gem on the city streets. With its tall arched windows and deep blue domes with gold stars it make a statement in a very dignified manner. Worshippers stream in and out, letting you know that it is an important part of their daily lives.

Good place for contemplation, just remember to wear suitable clothing! (Covered shoulders and knees). Good souvenir shopping outside and in the surroundings!

“Must See Devine Art”
Reviewed May 19, 2012

Very humble from the outside this Cathedral is overwhelmingly beautiful inside. The frescoes created by Vasnetsov in 1890s are so beautiful you will come out breathless, and will stay silent for half an hour—that was my impression after visiting St. Volodymyr's.

I have visited this Cathedral several times, last visit I brought in one of the famous watercolor artists Misha Lenn. He was stunned by the beauty and mastery of Vasnetsov's work on this church. Artist used only a limited number of colors and shades to create this devine masterpiece. Notice the main colors yourself and you will see how much you can do with so little. This is must-see Cathedral for artists, photographers, actors, musicians, and all people that learn from and create art.

The natural light in Cathedral and it's architecture makes the frescoes glow quietly from the inside. It will definitely touch onto your soul, believe me.
