This is among my favorite restaurants in Kyiv. The menu has an array of options from hearty snacks to larger main dishes-- and the desserts are fantastic. The decor is unique and interesting, calling on Ukraine's Pagan roots. The wait staff has always been very friendly and a fair number of them speak English. Those who speak English always manage to slip in an adorable unnecessary idiomatic expression that makes my dining experience even better. I have enjoyed Kult ra every time i have visited.

a very special authenticable restaurant in a very down town of Kiev. I bring all my foreign friends and visitors to this restaurant. This is not a touristic place with a rich gastronomic and ethnical experience. You can find very traditional Ukrainian, even to say, old Kiev Rus' food, nice creations from raw food and just something super tasty at a reasonable price.

i was walking around the city with a local and he said there was a place he wanted to go and stop for a drink. turned out to be kult ra. as we walked up i liked the look of the place and the tables outside. there were a couple of guys playing live music and occasionally singing. the wait staff outfits were great too.
so i barely glanced at the food because we were just stopping for a drink. found they had a honey cider...had to try it. loved it! as we relaxed and enjoyed the live tunes and our drinks, which came in these awesome clay (i think?) mugs, we decided after the first drink that we were hungry after all and why not eat here.
so we get the menu's back and look over the food. i read the story at the front and find out this place is all organic. pretty kewl. anyway, as i'm looking over the food items i can't help but laugh at some of the item names. i'm only reading the english so i don't know if there is a translation coming into play here or not, but i loved the funny names.
got the "slices of pork fat made according to old recipe" to start. was told it was a ukrainian dish so wanted to try it. wasn't overly impressed with it. but had to try it.
also got the wild boar meat filled varenyky. i'd only had the fruit filled ones before now. it was good though.
overall had a great time and would be happy to stop by here again (that honey cider was great!)

Cave-like cafe/restaurant/gallery/cult decorated with rustic fest-like decorations. Menu is interesting, and a bit expensive. It prefers te traditional and the organic, and offers items that are not ordinary.
The place is relaxing, and interesting. It is located favorably at the top of Andrey's decsent.
