Description: Pervak, one of the best folk Ukrainian restaurants in Kiev, and is located in the heart of the capital. It serves a wonderful range of freshly cooked dishes of Ukrainian cuisine. Pervak offers a wide range of traditional Ukrainian drinks and food which you can enjoy in either the big hall, or one of the small rooms decorated in Ukrainian style. Take a trip back in time to early 20th century Kyiv in one of restaurants in Kiev with great folk decor. The decor includes the showing of silent movies, and the restaurant itself is on the site of a famous merchant's house. A friendly staff in costumes serves up a variety of hearty Ukrainian dishes with inventive names, many interesting details wait for you here in one of the best Ukrainian restaurants. Pervak has succeeded in creating the perfect restaurant for tourists and locals alike, yet has not sacrificed its Ukrainian identity. The exterior of the building is splendid, and behind the door beckons a restaurant full of surprises, smiling faces and tasty dishes. It consists of seven distinct dining areas decorated in its own unique style. The Pervak restaurant has been tastefully designed to give you the feeling of old Kiev from a bygone era. It is quirky and fun, full of interesting ornaments, pictures and curiosities. And if you need any further distraction then the attractive waitresses dressed in frilly low cut folk costumes may well get you reaching for that extra shot of vodka. The menu is always refreshed and gladdens with its newcomers, you will feel the rich variety of tastes in one of the best restaurants in Kiev. We dearly preserve the best traditions of the Ukrainian hospitality and create a unique atmosphere of comfort and friendliness to be enjoyed by each of our visitors. Ukrainian restaurant "Pervak" is ideal for business meals with spaces available for private hire or with friends and family. We are proud to invite you to Pervak, to one of the eldest restaurants in Kiev.

Pervak has an unusual ambiance - part Russian, part rustic, part garden - really very hard to describe. But put all together, it is quite charming and romantic.
It has a non smoking section, upstairs, but the restaurant is "open" so the smoke drifts up to the non smoking section.
The service was good, and the food absolutely delicious. My wife had the duck breast, and I had veal and chicken fillets with a cherry and rosemary sauce. My chicken and veal were as tasty and tender as I have ever had. The prices are very reasonable for an upscale restaurant.
My dessert consisted of an excellent and generous portion of creme brulee.
Don't forget to check out the bar stools in the bar.

Visited this restaurant last week.

Centrally located with a wide selection of traditional food a la carte, prices are high by Ukrainian standard. The Business Lunch Menu that we suspect just came out on the day of our visit (22 Oct) was great value for money @ UAH53/head considering the restaurant's reputation, decor and clientele.

Service was excellent and wi-fi highly reliable. I spent two hours there making a last-minute attempt to book the Chernobyl tour only two days in advance on my mobile through their wi-fi and succeeded, sat there from 1430 to 1630 and no one made me pay the bill and leave or order more, waiters were very attentive to my needs.

We loved this restaurant before, and visited minimal once a months. Come over again after almost one year we hardly recognized the service and quality of food.
They are living on their previous reputation, still being one of not menu Ukrainian restaurant in city. But this does not provide any excuses for such a poor service. We just waited about 20 min to catch up the waiter, and should later remind several times about our order.
The food was just a food. Even it is Ukrainian food, it is definitely not the best presentation and taste you can find in Kiev.
We were completely upset and disappointed. It is out of our list for now.

Visited this restaurant after Trip advisor recommendation. Had a fantastic meal with 3 friends. We ate the Chicken Kiev of course plus pickled delights for starters. Our waiter Vitaly was superb and put up with our many questions regarding Ukraine. His suggestion of the cranberry or honey vodka's were a great finish to a wonderful meal

This is a very old traditional Ukrainian restaurant. We ate there on several trips and this time also. Unfortunatly, they seem to be living on their reputation. Example: Shrimp salad should have more than merely two shrimp in it. Other traditional dishes which should be wonderful (dick) are indifferently prepared.

Sad for us as the ambiance is very nice.
