Again always have to visit Maidan Square. Such a festive atmosphere during the holidays and on weekends. Kreshatic Street is closed for all holidays and weekends. Plus you can experience interesting characters there.

Been there twice, once during New Years eve and once during the EUro 2012. This square is the real centre of Kyiv. It might not be the most beautiful square of the world, but it's lively during weekends, holidays and events.

The place was really very nice a decade ago with a classical marble fountain cup with music. Now there are several unconnected ecleclical samples of sculpture and architecture chaotically sticking out around the square.

During weekends the traffic is closed so it is more conveniet for tourists to feel the "genius loci". This is the place, where the "Orange revolution" was held.
