“nice restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

We had our dinner there and did have some troubles to find it due to our map which showed it to be closer what it was. Dinner was good and specially tartar made of beef was excellent. My second course was cold inside and too raw. Serving was okay.

“Very good restaurant in a great location.”

Balzac is set in a very quiet part of a famous Strahinica Bana street. Service is great, food is very good, and it's very nice place overall. Try red risotto and apple pie...

“Don't skip it...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

Belgrade has great food, and the local cuisine is a must to try, but it's not always the healthiest food and service isn't always the most welcoming.

If you had enough of that, or just want to play it safe, go to Balzac, a place where you can have a more upper class experience in a great atmosphere.

International menu, great wines, the place looks very European but still with a Serbian touch, the service is far more European than "Serbian", the prices are reasonable while by no means the place is a snobbish one. .

It's a good spot to go with your friends, spouse or a business partner because it's not too loud to talk, but still feels very friendly and warm.

Located on the main street to see and be seen in Belgrade it's also a great place to start the night and then move one of the many lounges/bars spread around for heavier drinking.

“It feels like home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2012

Great place, my favourite restaurant in Belgrade. Service is perfect, those guys make me feel like home. Delcious international cuisine, hard to decide what to eat., everytime I go to Balzac. I had numerous bussiness meetings there and every single one of my clients got out of there with a grin on his or hers face.
Enjoyable for bussiness meetings but also for romantic dinner.
Balzacs SLOW FOOD concept is also a full evening pleasure, combining 4,5 dishes with different vine..........
Interestingly, their coffee and deserts are the best in this part of Belgrade, Dorćol, which is the fancy and posh part of the city which is full with caffes (popularly called "the sillicone valley"). Balzac is a restaurant but every morning its hard to find an empty table cause of all the neighbours, bussinessman, tourists trying to have their morning coffee, but dont be fooled, nothing can spoil that special cool and calm atmosphere.....
