If you are planning a trip to Belgrade and need a place to stay, book one of these apartments. Whether you are staying a weekend, a week or a month, there is an apartment for you. They are located in the Dorcol area, which is a 2 minute walk to the Kalemegdan Fortress, and about 10 mins walk to the bustling city centre.
My personal experience. I simply googled "apartments in Belgrade". I emailed Dusan and he came back within minutes with some options. I was staying alone so he gave me a brand new apartment - top floor! It was 40 Euro's a night and pickup and dropoff to the airport for an extra 30 Euro's. I was staying for 5 nights.
Dusan picked me up from the airport with my name on a board, took me to the apartment which took around 15 mins, and fluent in English he gave me so much advice in that 15 minutes - where to change your money, the best sites, restaurants, what to do and not to do. The advice turned out to be spot on, its just what you need, especially if you have not been to Belgrade before.
The apartment was brand new, but in an old building. We got the lift to the top (4th) floor. the apartment was super nice and clean. It has a big open space bedroom, the kitchen, although a little small, had electric cooker, fridge with freezer box, cupboards, and cooking utensils and mugs, glasses, plates, cutlery etc, oh and sponge and fairy liquid. The bathroom, also a little small, had toilet, sink, and a nice shower, towels and shower gel is included.
There is a combi boiler for the hot water and heating, and there are many radiators, which you would probably only need in December. There is air conditioning which was superb. There was no washing machine in my apartment but there are in the bigger apartments, but Dusan did offer this to me anyway.
My apartment was 16a GOSPODAR JOVANOVA. 2 mins down the road are a couple of supermarkets, a cash exchange office open until 20:30 each night, a fast food place, the Casa Nova Italian restaurant which was out of this world, and tourist shops to buy souvenirs. Plus, the next street down plenty of cafe's and bars. Everyone was so friendly and spoke English.
The Wifi was perfect and I was streaming Youtube perfectly. It was great for uploading my photo's to facebook each evening, showing off about all the places I had seen that day.
If coming to Belgrade, get an apartment with Belgradeapartment.net - it is cheaper and nicer than getting a hotel. Imagine it, cold wine and beer in the fridge ready for when you come home from a day of sightseeing. Also, there was a small courtyard area where you could sit outside and smoke if you want to. Thanks Dusan, I WILL see you soon.
