“For People Watching”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

This pedestrian street leads you to the opera house at one end and Kalemegdan Park at the other. It is a place to see and be seen. Food and drink may be a bit pricier than some other places in town, but the bustling activity makes it a lively place to sit and watch the world go by. There are a couple of good bookstores, as well as shops like Accessorize and Swatch, along with many other shops. There also are street vendors, musicians, and sometimes marionettes.

A must to be seen, my kids loved freedom of roaming it up and down. Do not recall ever seeing such a long pedestrian area.

“One of the most historical streets in Belgrade”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Knez MIhajlova is a part of Belgrade walk zone. Here you can feel the spirit of old buildings, reconstructed to be part of the modern time. When you walk through the street you will enjoy in the big windows offering you all from the needle to locomotive. But if you are not looking for good shopping just relax and visit Zepter museum, town library, Knez Mihailova Fountain, or just look around. All the buildings are reconstructed foundation. If you visit Belgrade, don`t miss to visit this part, at the end of the street after town library you can go to the Kalemegdan fortress.

“center of belgrade, i.e. center of serbia”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

This was the main street since Belgrade become the capital of Duchy of Serbia (XIX century). It still is. Although Belgrade widened, and subsequently has a lot of centers, it remained "the Main Street". What didn't happen in Knez Mihajlova, didn't happen at all. Sometimes it's the beginning of the world events, sometimes it's just the next in line. You'll find bookstores, small caffeterias, exclusive restaurants etc. Whatever you wish for - you'll find it. (Except for bordel.)
I didn't "visit", I live in Belgrade, five minutes from Knez Mihajlova!
