Proudly proclaimed as the largest Orthodox church in the Balakns, the exterior of this church is amazing while the interior is essentially a construction site. Work appears to be progressing quite slowly as friends informed me that the cathedral was under construction as much as 20 years ago!

St. Sava Temple is the biggest cathedral in Serbia and one of the most famous in this region. It's near the city center placed and there is good transport. It's nothing special.

St. Sava temple is under construction - STILL, as it is dependent on donations. It just seemed to have gone on and on. The Nazis used it during WWII for holding their tanks and trucks, but it just seems like one of those projects perpetually under construction, like the Sitting Horse project at Mt. Rushmore.
The grounds around there are very nice to wander around.
Worth while to at least see one of Belgrade's attractions.

The Church of St Sava is astounding in size. With a huge central cupola, magnificent space inside. The whole place is on a piazza. It is undergoing a full redecoration and so there is a limited amount of iconography to see inside. But worth a visits if just to see size and place a few Dinars in the box toward the restoration fund.

I prefer the smaller church (also S.Sava's) in the grounds. The temple is bleak inside, as it is unfinished. Looks spectacular from outside, especially at night, & is a convenient landmark.
