“Relaxing and learning botanology.”
Reviewed October 31, 2011

Though Belgrade is not exactly lacking green spaces, this particular park hosts an interesting collection of plants of all over the world. Though for a Balkanian dweller some may seem very common, some Asian trees (like a Himalayan pine tree) are quite interesting. The greenhouse is currently close, but a corner with a lake a kiosk and a waterfall create some Far Eastern feeling that contrasts with the buzz of the nearby streets.

“Terrible dirty place, not a garden any more”
Reviewed March 15, 2011

The plants, monuments, bridges and all of the benches were covered in the bird droppings. The greenhouse (staklenik) is closed due to renovation.
Something that was suppossed to be taking some rest in a nice ambient turned out to be a terrible mistake.
The garden is very small and very noisy as the main streets are close by and because of the birds.

“Green Oasis”
Reviewed October 23, 2010

The Botanical Garden is a 15-20 minute walk from the main downtown area of Belgrade. It is a green oasis, and looks particularly good in Autumn. The Botanical Garden consists of an arboretum and large greenhouse. The greenhouse requires renovation but contains a good collection of palms and cacti. The gardens are open from the beginning of May until the end of October.
