I stayed here one night, on the way through Belgrade by train. It was an easy ten minute walk from the station on the flat (many of the other hotels in Belgrade are in the historic part, up a steep slope).

The hotel looked a bit like an office block from the outside, but inside it was fine. The reception staff were friendly and spoke English. My room was a decent size and there was plenty of storage space. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well.

I had dinner in the small restaurant, which stays open till 11pm. There was a good choice of local and international dishes and the food was fine. Breakfast was pretty good, too - the usual buffet style, with cereal, tea/coffee, pastries and some hot dishes.

The Hotel is located near main station, 20mins walking to city center. Rooms are quite big and clean. We had only one problem with the bathroom, water flooded froom the shower box but for the rest was really ok. Staff is ok. Breakfast super! You can find whaterve you want apart from yogurt. The hotel has also a smal area outside with tables where you can have drinks. A little problem during check out.:receptionists gave back our passport to other people, we've been lucky they cheked them before leaving the Hotel. For the rest everything was ok.

Rex looks a bit ropy from the outside, but the interior, including the rooms are well kept and presented, albeit in the rather 80s style one expects in Beograd. The front desk staff are very helpful and all seem to speak fluent English. We were very impressed that they managed to do our much-needed laundry during our one night stay, and then refused to charge us for it! Breakfast was a reasonable buffet spread. The location is pretty good - not hugely central but handy if arriving/departing by bus or rail, both of which stations are about 10 mins walk away. The centre of town, around Trg Republika, is about 15 mins rather pleasant (once you stop being intimidated by the traffic!) walk away.

I went to Belgrade for a short trip, The room was small, but very clean. The aircon was noisy, but I did not need it, as it was nice, cool and quiet outside, so no problem to keep the window open. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and generally no problems. There is an old desktop that you can use for free, for Internet. The breakfast was fantastic! The location also very good.. you can walk to many nearby destinations, and it is easy to find. all in all I was very happy with my choice of hotel, and I would gladly go back

I spent 4 nights here from 5th to 9th May 2009. I made my booking directly with the hotel by e-mail. My e-mails were responded to almost immediately. The hotel confirmed my reservation without needing my credit card details - I paid the equivalent of £55 per night for a single ensuite room including breakfast and all taxes.
On arrival, in the small reception area, I was greeted pleasantly in perfect English and the check-in process was dealt with speedily.
I was allocated room 510 and was surprised how big the room was. It was furnished with 2 single beds, 2 bedside units, a wardrobe, a desk and chair, a further table and 2 chairs, minibar and TV which seemed to have around 50 channels including a lot of English language ones. Tea and coffee making facilities would have been a welcome addition and the bathroom although perfectly adequate could have been a bit bigger. The hotel is situated on a very busy street so the traffic noise starts to build up around 0630 hours, so not ideal if you're a late riser.
I breakfasted at 0800 hours and on the first 2 days the breakfast room seemed to be an adequate size but on the second 2 days it was very busy with people having to wait to get a table. It may simply have been a bad time to have breakfast as most of the other diners at that time seemed to be business travellers getting ready for the day ahead. It also appears that smoking is not the taboo in Serbia that it is elsewhere so expect people to light up in the restaurant. The hot buffet breakfast was the usual fayre, cereals, eggs, bacon, cold meats, cheeses, bread, jam, fresh fruits, fruit juices, tea and coffee - which should be avoided at all costs. The restaurant was also open for lunch and dinner but as I didn't eat there, I cannot comment on the quality and range of food offered. Outside there is a small decked area where drinks and food could be consumed.
The restaurant staff were somewhat laid back in their attitude to customer service, used crockery was slow to be collected from the tables but the buffet was quickly and frequently replenished. The chambermaid on the 5th floor seemed genuinely embarassed, surprised and pleased with my modest tip.
Now for the gym bit! The walking time from the city centre to the hotel is 10-15 minutes at a leisurely pace. However, the reverse journey takes nearer 30 minutes and involves what can only be described as a mountain climb. As a tourist, everywhere that you are likely to want to visit, from the hotel, involves a steep uphill climb. On the other hand, a couple of hundred metres from the hotel, you can catch a tram which will take you to Kalmegdan Fortress and everything is within easy walking distance from there and mainly on flat ground!.
Overall, I was perfectly satisfied with my stay at the Rex Hotel.

I have booked 2 nights at the hotel Rex from my travel agent. Well, that's a good hotel, with good breakfast, good location (not far from St Sava Cathedral), very close to the railway and bus stations. The rooms are quite clean, the bathroom is OK.
