I have rated this Museum terrible because it has been closed since 2002 or 2003.
It is a magnificent building and we learned that it had many treasures inside but unfortunately nobody can see them since 15 years. No restoration should take that long. The government should really and immediately take action to open this important museum as soon as possible.

We passed by the central zone of Belgrade in front of Republic Square and found that the museum was closed on ground of intensive renovation. This museum was established in 1844, was the oldest one in Serbia and supposed to have many preserved items inside. Really hope to have a view on the exhibits when we visited this Museum again.

It is still closed and people there are used to it now. I have asked a waitress if it's open for visiting, at least some parts of it, i should have checked TripAdvisor first...

The National Museum has been closed for renovation in many years and no one knows when it will be reopened again. In the photo you can see the museum covered with tarpaulin to the left.
