“windy day”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

I was there with my husband couple of days ago. It was really windy in the ground, but on the tower even more The view was really beautiful, you could see whole of Sumadija. But bare in mind one thing, if you are going there, do not wear a skirt, it is pretty tricky if you do, you will be like Marilyn Monroe in that white dress ;D

For Serbian people it`s something very important like a symbol of national identity, but as a simple tourist it`s just a tower in a middle of nothing. There so many things more beatiful and interesting in Serbia.

“Look at it! Live again!”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

It's a pity to visit downtown of Belgrade but not to have a look at it and surrounding country side.
Take a taxi or your own car, drive 15 km away, reach the top of Avala mountain and climb to the Avalski Toranj (Avala Tower) to the height of 122 m. But total height of tower - 204.57 m.
Destroyed in 1999 by bombs but rebuild in 2009 by people (Live again!)
To the south is view to the hills and fields covered by forest, meadows and crops as well as small villages. To the north view to Belgrade with Sava and Danube river, Kalemegdan fortress and business and residential buildings. Monument of the Unknown Soldier is placed at the very top of the mountain, 1.5 km away from the tower.
Go around the terrace stop by while, keep quiet, let your eyes to enjoy panorama and your ears to listen wind-song.
When back to the town chose a position to see the tower from a distance and try to remember few hours you shared with Avala and tower.
O, did you take some photos?
