In the center of Belgrade, by the Sava river, the river island Ada Ciganlija, there are lake, a fully regulated. Near the center of Belgrade, a 3.5 km long lake, beach the entire length of 7 kilometers.
These hot summer days when the temperature went up to 42 degrees Celsius, there were up to 150,000 visitors. All services available, security, rescue, medical teams. Restaurants and cafes on the beach, working all night, with the quality and variety of music.
Howland forehead is a large park. The front part of the furnishings, facilities for various disputes, bike trails around the lake, is associated with other Belgrade bicycle paths. Another major part of the left osrva nature and wildlife enthusiasts.
I recommend, an oasis of health and activity. There is a huge parking lot.
Nice greetings from Belgrade,
Sorry for bad English, I use translator Gugle

The title of this review may be slightly misleading - it is quite hard to hide 7km of beach - but I refer to the fact that not many tourists or visitors seem to know about what I consider to be amongst the best things about Belgrade.

I often holiday in Belgrade, and in the summer months Ada is a must. The beaches are very clean, the water is warm and wonderful to swim in (yesterday it was 27 degrees). There is a huge range of entertainment for all ages - swimming, waterskiing, pedallos, playgrounds, bike trails (and bike hire), roller blading, beach volleyball, a 9 hole golf course, 5 a side football, rugby... Not to mention sunbathing!

There is a wide choice of cafes dotted all around the beach - of varying quality. Some of them (e.g. Red Shoes or Sunset) offer restaurant quality food as well as coffees, alchoholic drinks, and of course the obligatory waiter service while you relax on a sun lounger. Unfortunately some of the other venues have poorer quality food and service so it is worth taking a stroll first before picking your spot for the day.

It can get very crowded on a weekend, so if you are a tourist I would recommend visiting mid week. If you are a fan of night life, some of the cafes also function as bars and nightclubs and (although I have not tested their claim) at least one of them advertises that they are open 24 hours a day, every day!

In summary, Belgrade offers a great City Break experience - and when you add Ada to the mix you can combine this with a beach holiday as well!

Ada has a good infrastructure for recreation and entertainment as bars, rental agencies, place for changing dress and showers. But it is crowded. Many people from all parts of Belgrade here if the weather is hot.

After driving through the city in the heavy traffic, going past old buildings with great architecture, new ones at least as impressive and also a couple of them that were bombed in the war and not restored (near the train station), after going through the complex intersections at busy hours you would not think that in the middle of all of these there is a magnificent 3.5 km long lake near a 800 ha island that is complementary destined to make you forget about all your worries and just feel like you are at the seaside. Here you can sunbathe, swim, rent bicycles and roller-blades (or bring your own), have a nice time at one of the many beach-bars, play golf, bungee-jump, water sky, and what not... Every recreation activity you could think of they have it there. It's just wonderful. If you do not want to use the public transport, even if there are lots of buses on the road and they look OK, you won't have any problems finding a parking place for your car since there are parking lots everywhere and the price is not high. (It was 150 Dinars for the whole day near the entrance to the island witch is a little more than 1 euro). I will definitely return here as frequently as I can.
