Description: Welcome to the best tavern in South Eastern Europe! In the tavern „Шешир мој“ (This Hat of Mine) you will encounter the spirit of Skadarlija, the rhythm of Belgrade, the flavors of Serbia and guests from around the world. When walking down Skadarlija town, whichever place you choose to sit, rest, eat and drink will be a good choice – the atmosphere is relaxing in the daylight, and merry come nightfall. Guests are always in a good mood, the staff is pleasant and the ambiance is beyond parallel. Everyone can find something to their choosing – a quick stop bar or an excellent night club, but if you are looking for authentic Serbian tavern, you are in the right place. However, which tavern to choose? The differences are minor, but the best service, food, music and atmosphere can be found in “Шешир мој” tavern. The moment you step foot in our tavern you will enter a hidden world, only found in some places – like our tavern “Шешир мој”. Our only desire is to preserve the traditional service and offer that had made the taverns in Skadarlija famous for the last 150 years. This is not an easy task – which is why, each day and night filled with content guests are a small victory for us. Hospitality managers often forget (or they haven’t been taught right) what it means to make someone feel welcome – it is a personal interaction and quality time for the guest, not a business transaction. All the old taverns of Belgrade are close nowadays, or have changed their appearances, because traditional services are not easy to procure – but, “Шешир мој” tavern is still a tavern where chefs are licensed to cook national food, where the waiters don’t change, where the musicians are professionals with full time employment, and the food is always fresh.

High value meals in the bohemian Skadarlija part of Belgrade. Excellent food, based on traditional Serbian cuisine with beautiful surroundings, in the middle of the full of flowers, colourful, small but lively street.
The fantastic bread along garlic sauce and with the green long chilli peppers in oil is simple but unique and delicious dish. The menu is pretty extensive so it’s a good opportunity to test many Serbian dishes.

This is a cute little retaurant with serbian food in a very picturesquely area of Belgrade. The portions of food on the plate where gigantic! The service where ok, I didn't get what I ordered, the pommes frites came ten minutes later than the food. Our starter (cheesepie) seemed heated in the microwave. Very touristic.

Went to this restaurant after it was recommended to us by our hostel and wish we had tried elsewhere. The restaurant itself is a beautiful with plenty of unique artwork on the walls, and the live plants adorning the front of the restaurant makes it instantly inviting. The food was decent: the bread along with the chili peppers in oil and garlic was a unique dish I had not had before and was delicious. Our individual pork dishes were somewhat overdone and dry (bacon wrapping on pork was burnt to a crisp, leaving the meat underneath quite dry). One of our two meals was just swimming in cheese and we left literally a pile of melted cheese on the corner of the plate.

All this, however, would not have resulted in such a subpar rating if it were not for what happened at the end of the meal. Quite frankly, we were taken advantage of.
The bread was charged per person, however when we walked outside there was a person dining alone with as much bread as we had but when we inquired they would not be charged twice. The plate of chili peppers was delicious, but we were charged per pepper without being asked how many we wanted. I've truly never been to a restaurant in the world where I was charged a unit price without being asked about quantity. It would be like ordering a steak, the chef putting two on your plate and charging double regardless of whether you ate it all. In our case, we ate maybe half.

Enjoy at your own risk.

Wonderful surroundings, in the middle of the colorful flowers, small but lively street. Food is not the best maybe, but definitely above average. Obviously, one of the best options in Skadarlija. The restaurant band adds value to the atmosphere.

The only place for me in Belgrade. The best grill, great staff, and the atmosphere is something to get back to any time.
