“nice location, but it could be better...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2012

i stayed at the tash hotel in May 2012 for 4 days. The good things first. The location is great, the city center is very close to the hotel and the area nearby is just perfect. You can hang out at the beatiful park outside the hotel, you can find restaurants, cafes, super market in a 2 up to 5 minute distance. Also you can easily access the hotel on foot even in very late hours. The staff was very friendly and kind, and although their english was not remarkable, the really did their best to help. Internet access was great. Bathroom was big, clean and generally very modern.
The bad ones:
1. room size: really small, in the beginning i felt that two people cannot sleep in there.
2. curtains: the curtains were very poor for the window size. I mean that they didn;t cover the whole of the window, so in the morning with the first light, it was really annoying. Also they were not dark enough. They must do something to fix it. I don't have trouble in sleeping generally, but it really anooyed me
3. smell: there was a smell from the bathroom, especially early in the morning. There was not any cleaning problem or something like that, the problem was from humidity and as far as we were informed , the buildings in surrounding area faced exactly the same problem.
4. We have read when we booked the hotel about the training center etC. WHERE WAS IT? There is a training center in the same building, and you can have access but there is public one, i mean full of students and people and you couldn't coordinate.I mean the hotel reception told us that we should make the deal with the center's reception etc and this was very difficult, due to lack of english speaking etc. To be honest, we did not try much to use it.
5. Breakfast was just okay, nothing very special and nothing bad.
6. Closets, although there was a rennovation the closets were old.
In general, we did not pay much for the hotel. But, during our booking we thought that it would be better. I wouldn't stay there again.

The Room itself was very good. Seemed clean - apart from a cockroach on the wall, a shower that leaked causing a puddle on the bathroom floor (which we reported right away but they didn't deal with it), pillows and bedding with 'fake tan' stains on them - and NO WATER at all on the last night due to the hotel shutting off the water system completely to fill up the swimming pool. We had a 10 hour journey home and we had no shower! Would have been nice to be informed!
The breakfast was average. The same bread was put out on the second day and it was hard.
People WERE SMOKING in the reception/breakfast area!!!
The air con was the only good thing about this hotel.
We have stayed in better Hostels for a quarter of the price, than this.
The location: a 20 minute walk to the centre. Has an excellent park right next to it.
The lift/elevator didn't work all the time and the stairs were being reconstructed.
We paid 10 EUR to use the swimming pool and facilities downstairs. We got our money back after seeing a tiny, cold pool and a steam room (**NOT** TURKISH BATH) and the Olympic swimming pool was being used by school children.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

Room Tip: Stay in a Hostel!

Hotel "Tash" is located in the eponymous sports complex, which included pool time of socialism (with tracks and grandstands), fitness centers, stadiums, halls sports and martial arts, massage and spa. I was not impressed from hotel. On booking web-sites is marked as ** in their business cards as ***, but, frankly, in the same in other countries, for ex. South East Asia, even hotels are ** much more well-groomed appearance, about how rooms and lobbies, corridors and other areas.

The tracks on which I climbed to the hotel (it is located on the 4th floor of the building), it is unknown when last cleaned and washed. Electric locks in the rooms are not available, the only outlet is kept "on snot," but to reach it (I needed it to recharge the camera and laptop), you must move the table with a TV. No refrigerator, air conditioner stopped working on my second day, the windows are dirty, the shower is no support under the soap and shampoo, in shower lies on the bottom yellow stripe rust.

Soap and shampoo are present and brings new every day, changing towels and bed linen - it's just in case, so do not think it all quite grim. Moreover, it was not even grim. Eliminates all the shortcomings of the generous attitude of local residents, including the hotel staff. Honestly, depends on many things. All was after a warm relationship to me, after the administrator has found in her purse only map the center of Belgrade (the others run out).

The location is also a disadvantage. When you look at the map, it seems that everything is close - and the historic steam Kalemegdan, and St. Sava, and the central city area. But it turned out that the center of Belgrade very large. I have booked for 38 euros per room (yes, the one about which I wrote above).

I would also like to say about the breakfasts at the hotel. So-so, with all due respect to the staff. In his first breakfast I went to a restaurant that is located on the 3rd floor of the building. I have seen - is a separate plot of a book or movie in the style of surrealism. The huge hall as 500 feet square, with huge tables and chairs. At the very far wall, two women eating breakfast. And nobody also. No hint of the kitchen, the waiters and cooks. Typically, breakfast in the hotel - it's a buffet. So its like you already knew was not there. I went to these women. They're on me zero attention, continue to eat breakfast. Asked - where can I get breakfast. Taking their advice, thank them, went behind the partition, where there was a kitchen. There I asked the woman (call her a chef would not be quite correct, because I saw her earlier next to the administrator, and she was in ordinary clothes) to cook me breakfast. She was responsive, she have prepared for me an omelet with cheese, bring juice, yogurt, coffee. For snacks ok, but compared with the usual Serbian cuisine - so-so. On the second day breakfast prepared for me administrator, and she was just out of coffee with two sandwiches with butter and jam, and a glass of juice.

Room Tip: I am not sure. Come to restoran "Orao" near this hotel.

Location of Tas Hotel is the best possible, close to sport center and a park nearby to walk and run. Was there 3days and Belgrade is amazing. No need to use a cab.
Hotel was pretty clean and staff was helpful.
