“A Great place for Fans of Rosemary or History, not children”

My friend and I really enjoyed our visit here - maybe you need to be a certain age to appreciate ALL of the history in this home. Our "tour guide" Jule was a very pleasant & talkative older lady who was very nice and told us all kinds of stories about Rosemary & family, George & his escapades, and many others.

The home is packed with lots of old costumes from Rosemary's movies, both her costumes, AND Vera Ellen's, Bob Hope's, etc. Also there are about 10 costumes from George Clooney's movies - mostly those he wore but also some female co- stars. There are many, many photos of Rosemary and her family, and also of her brother Nick & his family (George, etc.).

We saw 5+ rooms fully of memorabilia in this old rehabbed (by Rosemary) home with an Ohio River view, including those of the present owner Heather Renee French. We found it interesting to see her costumes from her pageant days that were beautiful & all made by her talented mother!

We thought that it was worth our time and $5 to take this tour back in time.

“Cool”

Okay the place is the best you can get in this small village and the tour is short and the artifacts are cool though but you can only come here and stand it 2-3 times in your lifetime and that's about it or more that's whats cool about it.

The Henry family operate this beautiful house dedicated to the memories of the famous people that are and were residents of the area! Steve and Heather{MIss America 2000} french Henry do such a fantastic job of preserving the memories of Rosemary Clooney and her family along with some memorabilia of their own!

“Glad We Visited But.....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

Augusta, KY is a quaint little river town, and Rosemary's charming house looks out over the river. It is just down from where one of the last ferries across the Ohio runs between Kentucky and Ohio, transporting people and cars. I was told the charge is $5 for cars and free if you just want to ride across without your car.
We were disappointed that on a Wednesday only one shop was open in the town. We would have loved to visit Nina's, a shop belonging to one of the Clooneys, and in Rose Hill Boutique, Heather French Henry's dress shop.
I have mixed reactions to the tour of Rosemary's home. First of all, when you enter the home and pay the entrance fee of $5, you find yourself in a room with many items for sale. It would be better if that was left to the end of the tour. However, the exhibits are well done, with numerous original costumes and some reproductions. Her bedroom upstairs was interesting. Only a portion of the house is available to tour.
Our tour guide was a sweet young lady who knew very little about the house and couldn't answer many of our questions. That was frustrating, but all in all, we were very glad that we visited the house and the town. It has the feel of Mayberry, RFD, and that's a good thing!
