Description: In Bucharest's leafy north, among the embassies and mansions, this classy establishment occupies a fine 18th-century villa with a gorgeous garden terrace for summer dining (which is also heated in winter); this is a favored place for the old school air-kissing crowd, where foreigners hobnob with the rich while chef Doru Dobre cooks up a storm for his sophisticated clientele. Start with polenta topped with bacon and shaved cheese, topped with an egg and served with sour cream, or have the in-house version of sarmale, sour cabbage leaves stuffed with meat and served (of course) with polenta. The menu is not too complicated, with plenty to keep both unadventurous and keen-to-experiment taste buds happy; chicken filet is stuffed with Roquefort and finished off with bacon and Parmesan; braised ducking is served with sauerkraut, and grilled duck liver with cherry sauce. Fresh fish is available at the daily market price; their swordfish is gently fried in olive oil. Finish off with nougat glace with egg custard and maple syrup.

Wen visiting Bucharest Casa Doina is a must do.
We have returned several times and have not been disappointed once!
Service is impeccable as is the food and the setting is gorgeous - the water fountain is lovely to have in the background.
We have been here for lunch an dinner and the setting changes quite dramatically from day to evening but is relaxing and beautiful at all times. The wine list is impressive.
Highly recommend Casa Doina.

Shortest review: best restaurant in town. Period.
Year after year it still has the best quality of food, with a strong emphasis on the local cuisine. You can try the cuisine all around town but nothing comes close to Casa Doina.

The restaurant has perhaps the most beautiful garden in Bucharest is situated near a park. The food is average and the prices high.

Excellent food and service and a fantastic location all make Casa Doina a fantastic place to dine.
Casa Doina is one of the oldest and most famous Bucharest restaurants and it is declared as a historical monument.
The best option is to sit outside near the fountains in the inviting courtyard. Try the beef carpaccio with olive oil and lemon juice.

We were taken to this wonderful restaurant by a resident of the city and couldn't believe that such a sophisticated restaurant existed in Bucharest.

Although I checked out the beautiful dining room, the diners were seated outside. Tall white cones were lit creating a lovely atmosphere. A trumpet player and a pianist provided fabulous background music that made the evening magical.

The food matched the ambience. An international menu had a large selection to please any palate. The service was top notch as well.

The prices were higher than many restaurants in Bucharest matching some of those in New York, but this was the place to be for a special summer's night.
