We were yesterday for lunch at Nuba. Great food nothing to complain about it. Last night our friends were waiting for us at the same spot for club, as at night Nuba changes into a club/ lounge. We got there at 11:45 pm and a "gentleman" at the door told us we cannot go in as we don't have reservations. However i told him our friends are already inside and in a very rude way he told us - anyway the guy is with you (my husband) cannot come inside with the t-shirt. I look around and many people were having t-shirts and when i asked him "only certain people can come inside with t-shirts?" - he answers was -"well those ones are regular people and they can come the way they want". And he pointed the exit as we were on "his way". We live in NY and we are regulars in One Oak,Lavo, Marquee, Bagatelle etc,so we know what dress code is. I know what dress code is in Romania and trust me we know fashion so we won't go in a club dress up in cheap clothes. We just came back from Mamaia where we went to Loft , Breeze, and Bamboo and none of those places were rude like Nuba. However last night we were dressing with t-shirt from Balmain and Balenciaga, shoes from Louboutin and Balenciaga, watches Rolex and Richard Mille so i don't think we were dressed cheap or underdress. We saw people passing by with cheap loafers and black t-shirts and getting inside with no issue as they knew the "guy from the entrance". I'm sorry but the owner Alin should teach the door people to learn how to read the people at the door. We were good enough to pay for lunch with a bottle a wine but we were not good to enter the club at night. We ended up at Bamboo where they gave us a table right away with no issue. I have to say that our friends left Nuba as well and they came with us. As i mentioned i understand if we were looking cheap dressed or underdressed but was not the case as we know what Romania is all about in terms of fashion.
That was a bad experience and i will never go back there. We will have lunch at Casa di David instead of Nuba today and we will go clubbing in any other place. Not that anybody cares but i just wanted to share my "amazing experience" with NUBA
