Please consider Romania for your next vacation, it is STUNNING in beauty! I highly recommend the guided car trip we took through Transylvania. In seven days we saw numerous castles, villages, medieval towns and churches. Bogdan planned the trip, handled all details, and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our trip. It was lovely to sit back and relax during this trip, trusting our itinerary to a competent guide.

Our "Dracula Tour" of Transylvania centered on Vlad Dracul (Vlad the Impaler) and his times, but it was much much more. We received an enjoyable education in Romanian culture--its history, foods, and customs in rural and city places.

There is so MUCH to see that is interesting! Romania is off the beaten path in Europe, but it should not be. Prices are inexpensive when compared to traditional European destinations.

Much of Romania's culture lies in rural areas, and Romanian food reflects that where farm-to-table is common, it is not the trendy construct it is here in the U.S. Romanians are masters of food, and their local wines are lovely.

I highly recommend this mode of travel. Our guide was able to take us several places each day; we would not see so much if we were trying to find our own way around. He was flexible in showing us things of particular interest to us personally. For example, he deviated from the travel schedule to take us to a botanical garden. He knows the best ways to get into castles, the best spots for good photos, and how to efficiently navigate in cities. He took us to charming out-of-the-way places such as a legendary burial spot for Vlad, a home tour and home-prepared dinner in a Transylvanian village, and a rural village miles from a paved road. Of course, Romania's famous medieval cities of Sighisoura and Sibiu were included in the trip as well many other well known historical places.

Throughout our trip Bogdan was courteous, professional, and very very knowledgeable. His hard work and conscientious attitude allowed us to enjoy a full itinerary in this beautiful country.

A private tour is of course the best west to see a foreign land, but if you have Bogdan at the wheel, you are in for the treat of the century.
Bogdan is a wealth of information and knows where to go and how to educate you on it. Customer service is superb. He is very eager to please, and will ensure that you are happy about the suggested itinerary and happy with every experience. He is a wonderful driver, the car is comfortable and Bogdan even has a car-load of amenities to offer you. A trash bag, kleenex, wetnaps , COLD drinks which last the entire day thanks to a mini fridge in the trunk, and even a selection of candies and cookies to keep your tummy happy for the occasional long drive between attractions. Even wifi is available (at this time of writing) What sets Bogdan apart from most other guides is his lecture techniques. He is not just a talking head who just boringly sprouts out history book paragraphs. Not only does he make it interesting, he ENGAGES you in his discussions (if you wish of course) !. YES ! an interactive learning experience. For example, he may enter a building and say "There is something here which is missing from this typical building. What do you think it is ?" You want to walk a lot ? no problem. you want to relax ? no problem.
This helps you to retain the knowledge ! All in all an exceptional experience.

My sister and I had the absolute pleasure of a day trip with both Bogdan and Chip. From the moment they picked us up (on time) to the moment we arrived back to our hotel at night we had a true Romanian experience.
Bogdan and Chip have an incredible knowledge of their country and of the sights we visited. We spent the day visiting Peles Castle, Bran Castle and Brasov. There was no queueing and no lost time which meant that we made the most of our time.
The car was comfortable and there was a constant supply of water and snacks available. The conversation during the driving parts of the day was interesting and humorous.
I would highly recommend using Bogdan and Chip for any trip in Romania and I am already planning my next one with them.

I was working in Bucharest for an extended period of time and decided one day to get out of the city with a friend and go explore the local countryside.

We knew we wanted a private tour to make the most of our time and were not disappointed!

Bogdan picked us up and came totally prepared with drinks and a full array of snacks for the day!

He took us to the castles Peles/Bran... explained Transylvania in detail, we went through villages and back roads (seeing things we never would have seen) and then the highlight We did an early dinner at the first guesthouse in Romania where the owners came to greet us and show us around. Stunning views and an unforgettable experience! Incredibly knowledgeable but in an interesting way! I wouldn't hesitate to go again and in fact am planning another trip with Bogdan to a different part of this beautiful, unspoiled country.

Terrific 4 day tour of Transylvania, with some great overnight stops. I was amazed at just how much we managed to pack in.

With a start at Bucharest, we headed north stopping first at Sinaia for Peles Castle and then onto Bran Castle, with overnight accommodation at a guesthouse in Magura. Day two and we took in Brasov and Viscri (a fortified Saxon church) before stopping at a very centrally located hotel in Sighisoara. Day 3 took in Biertan and Axente Sever, both fortified churches, before reaching Sibiu. Finally Day 4 involved a drive back to Bucharest via the infamous Transfagarasan Highway which crosses the Carpathians at close to 7000ft above Sea level - fantastic views and an amazing drive. Clarkson of 'Top Gear' fame described it as the greatest driving road in the world !

Bogdan has an encyclopedic knowledge of Romanian history, a great knack for finding the best sites for photos, and was a very safe driver. The organisation and the stops were excellent. His enthusiasm for his country's rich culture and history shone through at ever turn.

My advice would be to take a 4 day tour if time permits. Quite a bit of climbing of narrow towers, so to get the most from the tour, it would be worth being reasonably fit. Would not hesitate to recommend the tour to anyone with an interest in Romania
